How would 80s WI and 2000s Australia fare in unbeatable current India?

This wasn’t some crazy lottery pitch. If it was NZ would have been bowled out for 150 type scores at best.
Jaiswal scored 70-odd, Jadeja scored 38 and 42 or whatever. Our batsmen are just utter ****.
It wasn't Pune 2017 level but it certainly was a lottery wicket, the match ending in 3 days and where any spinner in the zone can get wickets (though oddly none of Indias spinners were in that zone) Teams can still manage 200 or so on these pitches but it's not easy.

I am getting irrationally angry over something that is not completely false, just really obnoxious.
Yes, this is the internet.

Sundar was in a great zone actually. 11/115 for the match.

Winning masks a lot, and I've heard forum members for a while talk about how Ash or Jadeja saved the innings or some rear guard action, and to me that's not the most sustainable way to build innings and it's not the mark of a great team.

But that's just my opinion.
The point is that this India side hasn’t been great even at home since the batting dropped off a cliff, some time just post Covid. They’ve got the results (to some degree, until yesterday) but it’s just not the same team that pummelled nearly every visiting team.

I will rebut this though. WI in '95 was without any of the players from the 80s that made them great. This Indian team still has Kohli, their best wk batsmen ever, Ashwin, Jadeja and Bumrah. This Indian team is more akin to 90/91 WI who still had some of the great 80s players but who were in their twilight, thus resulting in their just edging Eng and Aus of that time. And I expect India, unlike WI to rebuild/regroup fast and dominate at home again and be very good on the road.
This is a meaningless statement. My point was this team is nowhere near it's peak version. Holding results like this nz series as evidence of anything would be exactly like judging the greatness of WI's teams of that era by their weakened version later on.

Brother you vomit out page long spiels every time someone even makes any light hearted jabs at cricketers you like . Spare us this trash.
Ad hominem attacks for stating a view on a match, compared to just sharing opinions.

But don't let me stop your pissing match, carry on cheerfully.

Fairly true. Until Could they had lost 1 lost under Kohli. Since then, 5 tests.

Ok on a related note, not discussing team strengths, which captain combo did more to build and secure their teams legacy?

Lloyd-Viv, Waugh-Ponting or Kohli-Rohit?

Yeah but even that weakened WI version didn't lose. It was a completely different team in 95 that did. Which is why overall that team was rated so high for their unbeaten streak. When it seems their record was at stake, they rose to the occasion.

Yeah but your also do your share of passive aggressive jibes while complaining of agendas and whatnot. Like I said, just chill.

Subs you should also police yourself, considering how many threads like this you make about very specific topics. Maybe if you don't want to have these types of reactions, you should stop creating situations like this?

Which other recent threads like this pray tell? I think all of the angst aside, the topic for this thread is genuinely merit worthy for debate.
