Matteh said:My main point is...he's always been in the top car (give or take the odd year)...surely it would be more worthwhile to join a lower team and prove he's the best? For the record, this is not true.
Schumie started racing in F1 in 1991 for Jordan, then was signed up by Benetton in 1992. Benetton, at the time, was just another car filling back-grid places. Within 6 races they had their first win and stayed up in the constructors championship all the time Schumie raced for them. After he went to Ferrari, Benetton dropped back into obscurity.
In 1996 Schumie went to Ferrari, a team who hadn't had a win in 20 years. For four years they worked on improving the car while Schumie raced it and did better and better until they started winning.
Both Benetton and Ferrari have said that their success is due to the fact that Schumie works alongside, and just as hard as, the teams on the car. Suggesting improvements and different set-ups. He is a qualified mechanic and has vast engineering knowledge, and because of this, he understands exactly what the car can and cannot do, and he combines this with an extraordinary talent for driving. This is also the reason why his car seems to always be better set-up than his teammates'.
Twice he has joined a lower team and MADE them the best.

Plus you can't really call Ferrari a lower end team - sure they hadn't won a championship in 20 years but they were hardly a lower end team in 1996. Still took four years - or the time it took for Renault to pull out and for Hakkinen to suddenly become good and fade away again. For the record, this is not true.

Benetton were hardly a lower end team either - consistently scoring wins - having Nelson Piquet driving for them..and also having Bryne and Brawn working for them..
Damon Hill in an Arrows - a team which had a record of absolutely no wins in its entire existence - and if one of the smallest parts in the car hadn't failed he'd have made an Arrows car win. Then he went to Jordan who were an established team for a decade that had never won - and gave it its first ever win. For me this deserves more respect. It's just a shame Schumacher shunted him off the track in Adelaide 1994 and denied him two world titles.
It should look like that, I believe...Matteh said:After today's result:

The two people with Schumacher are 3rd and 14th....If you don't have Schumacher or Alonso then you're going to be strugglingbroncoman said:i suck big time at this...

Hey, man. Technicalities are the soul of quite a lot of things. One of them being correct league positions. Of course, you would expect someone running a fantasy league compeition to keep that in mind. tsk tsk tsk.Matteh said:Ahh missed that

Equal 9th or 10th - you're still effectively 10th anywaycricketboy29 said:Hey, man. Technicalities are the soul of quite a lot of things. One of them being correct league positions. Of course, you would expect someone running a fantasy league compeition to keep that in mind. tsk tsk tsk.
