You've really got no clue about football have you?
Not the first one I have seen.

On another forum I asked a Man Ure fan why didn't support Man City instead, and he said he didn't know who City was despite claiming to come from Lancashire.

i think a 442 to with a midfeald of Bekham, lampard, gerrard and cole is the best option at the moment, however as i have said i think it should be considerd as a serious option to play carrick in midfeald as a holding player and drop Gerrard or Lampard

just wonderinf why if you play Carrick as a holding mid-field player do you have to drop either Lampard or Gerrard why cant joe cole go?

Because i am not conviced either of them can play on the left hand side and i think Cole does a pretty good job there

I don't believe in converting players that basically haven't got a left foot into left-sided players. Football is not about picking your best eleven players regardless of what position they play. Having a well balanced, unified team is the most important thing by far. Bridge or Ashley Cole should be left-back (they're both injured at the moment, so basically just go with the next best regular English left-back in the Premiership - whoever it is). Then the left midfield should be between Ashley Cole, Richardson or Downing.

I agree with that in principal and if Downing really comes on the season and plays really well for Middlesbourough then i would play him, however i think of all the people England have tried on the left side in the last few years Joe Cole is the best and i think he does a decent job

That's true, and he's IMO beginning to look the man to play the role for the foreseeable future.

I agree, i think this playing the best 11 players idea isn't working anymore. It has too much "fantasy football" about it. Football is of course a team game and a collection of individuals (see super series ODI) don't make a good team. The sooner Downing is fit and on form the better.

Now why couldn't giggs have played for England seniors!!!! I believe we could well have won the past 2 major tournaments had that been the case. Now that is a painful thought.......

Errmm, sorry to patronise, but it's because he's Welsh. :p He played for England Schoolboys, but that's because he went to school marginally on the English side of the border - he was never qualified to play for England at any level higher than Schoolboys, he's said so many times.

It's a lovely thought, though........ :D

Well maybe if once in while you allowed someone to say something even remotely negative about an Australian without wading in and moaning at people for having a go at them, it'd be a start...

The issue is that of the things you've "argued" are no-brainers that you have decided are attacks on the Australian team.

I'm with you on this one marc - give it a rest, aussie. The rest of us accept that we're never going to be able to convert everyone to our point of view. The forum is a place for people to air their views, not rubbish others'.
