Woodgate was quite brilliant for Newcastle when he was fit, if he can find this form for real which i beleive he can in time he should definetly be in the England squad

Ahead of two from Rio, Sol, Terry, Carra and King? He's a good player, but won't be given the chance to prove himself before the World Cup - he was made to look better than he actually was by a shocking Newcastle defence, and it will take him so long to get back to form with Real he won't get a look in. Not with those five ahead of him anyway - if everyone's on form, they're all better players to start with, so he's got some catching up to do.

The fact that newcastle hartldy conceded a goal when he was playing how good he was. I think if he gets back to form he is comftorbly better than King and chragher and as good as the lazy ferdinand in my opinion

if he actually gets a run of games i may take glen johnson instead of luke young.
Glen Johnson? I'd rather take Martin Johnson to be honest (the ex-rugby player or the journalist, I'm not fussy). He can't defend, and he can only attack sporadically. Like an extremely, extremely poor man's Roberto Carlos. Personally as the defenders I'd take Terry, Rio, Sol, G Neville, A Cole, Bridge, King, and Carragher - Carra can play right or left back if necessary, and King has to be there because he's proven himself at Euro 2004 and can also play the holding role if we get desperate.

2-0 to England tonight by the way, goals from Rooney and someone unexpected - maybe it's time Ashley Cole notched up his first for his country.

Although i dont think King is great in midfeald and it is a real shame carrick is injured but i think his presence will give the team far more balance and as a result will play much better

My reviewed 23 man squad

Well after watching tonights game its given me a few idea's about our defensive back-ups & who should play in mid-field:

-------------------------------------------------------ROBINSON----------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------TERRY------------------------------------CAMPBELL--------------------------------

NEVILLE------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------COLE

------------------------------------------------------ KING-------------------------------------------------------------------

BECKHAM--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------GERRARD

------------------------------------------------------LAMPARD-------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------OWEN----------------------------------------------------ROONEY----------------------------------

GOAL-KEEPERS:

Paul Robinson, Chris kirkland, Robert Green

DEFENDERS:

Gary Neville, John Terry, Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole, Luke Yong, Ledley King, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Bridge.

MID-FIELDERS:

David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Michael Carrick, Scott Parker.

STRIKERS:

Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, Jermaine Defoe, Darren Bent, Paul Crouch

Well i reckon now that King is the answer to the holding mid-field problem so that covered so he will compliment the BIG 3 well. But again some will say Cole hasn't done anything wrong on the left & why cant Gerrrard be dropped & Coel remain, but you know has well as i if Sven starts thinking along these lines which i really hope he does the BIG 3 wont be split.

Aslo because i reckon King will play in that holding-role he can aslo play in his central defensive position, so i would leave Downing out because Cole is their as the left-winger.So no matter how good Woodgate does at real he cant play in front of King & i'm not comfortable with Carrager being their just because he cant play on the left & right even though he isn't used to it, i would stick with Young & Bridge.

So a 5th striker for me would have to be Bent to add to Owen, Rooney etc...

So after watching this game, you decide King is a better option in midfield than Cole?

Based on what exactly?
