And they also kept losing to SA and SL at home.yeah but England were **** in UAE a couple of times
They played very well given the conditions. I am sure you never watched them play so shut up will yaPlayed 6, lost 5, drew 1
There is no Almost Won stat in sport.
Barring this dreadful year, my rugby team the Spingboks almost beat the All Blacks on numerous occassions.
Actually I did see them play and they werent great. Bowling out a side for 99 in the first innings and still losing is not what i call wonderful performance. Nor getting bowled out for 72 eitherThey played very well given the conditions. I am sure you never watched them play so shut up will ya
It was a pretty good pitch for spinners and Ajmal was at his chucking best. No team in the world could have stood up to him in those tests.Actually I did see them play and they werent great. Not saying this Indian would have necessarily won against NZ in NZ, but I very much doubt they would have been as hopeless as Pakistan were at times.India will be no. 1 easily for a little bit playing so much at home
Honestly think Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Yadav & Ishant Sharma would have bowled better in NZ conditions than Imran Khan, Mohammad Amir, Sohail Khan & Wahab Riaz did.Indian batting is quality generally, its the bowling that's problematic outside.
Fair point.Indian batting is quality generally, its the bowling that's problematic outside.

On top of that, I agree India's batting would have been far far stronger. I mean let's be honest Younis Khan was nothing more than a walking wicket at 4.
I wouldn't have even sweated that much if we dropped Younis a couple if times, since it was so obvious he'd fall very soon afterwards anyway.
I'm almost certain India would have been a much stiffer Test for NZ in NZ conditions.
Lol, what a weirdly defensive reaction. You pointed out India's bowling being problematic outside the SC, and I thought it was relevant to point out their pace bowling attack would have likely performed better in NZ than Pakistan did.
lol, dude, why do you keep bringing in India for comparison with Pakistan? I don't care. I think India are right now better than Pakistan. It doesn't matter to me if SL or Zim could field a better team than Pakistan did in NZ. For me right now it's between SA and India for the best team in the world and I think SA shades it for being a better all condition team.
It's still irrelevant though because I never mentioned Pakistan. I said south Africa are the best side right now which you seem incapable of addressing.Lol, what a weirdly defensive reaction. Relevant because Pakistan are the side that have been touted as a team that play well away from home in recent times & were just number 1 a few weeks ago.
Lol, Stop flattering yourself man and making it all about you. I know you didn't mention Pakistan in that reply & never said nor implied you did. I explained why I felt it relevant to compare them to Pakistan. They've been a team touted as one of the better away sides in recent times, you only need look at the poll result in this thread to know that & it's only a month or so old. It's still irrelevant though because I never mentioned Pakistan. I said south Africa are the best side right now which you seem incapable of addressing.
And whoever said Pakistan were ahead by a country mile?
It was pretty clear that all the top teams were quite close except maybe NZ and Pakistan losing to NZ is a big blow and hence they are rightly no longer in contention for the top team right now. It's between India and south Africa with south Africa the top team for mine.
What is so hard to understand?
