They aren't that far off actually. We shouldn't forget that winning in SA and NZ (2-0) is something that most teams haven't managed. The only reason they seem to be more in turmoil is because they have replaced so many batsmen recently, and have collapsed hilariously, a lot. Beat Pakistan, and if they manage to do well in India (surely it must happen at some point!) and they'll have a pretty decent claim.

It's just the way things are right now, all it takes for a team to get there is a couple of good series.

Our B8s side has played six for five outright wins and one first innings where we had the ****s at the other side and kept them in the field while we made 350 in response to their 112.

There is no dominant team right now. Even the very good ones do well at home and struggle away. SA did very well for about 4 years before losing Smith and Kallis.

After England's rather embarrassing innings defeat after winning the toss and batting first on a dry wicket taken turn, and their subsequent series loss, with a match remaining, can we all now agree that as of this moment there's only two serious contenders for best current Test side, those being India and SA?

Amazing how quickly Pakistan went from probably the best to not in the argument. They hadn't lost a series for like 2 years or something right? Now they got hammered by NZ and if they're hammered by Australia too then they're a mile off it.

2-2 in Eng seems a long time ago.
