Whoops, forgot that I was playing in Australia instead of WI today so I forgot to change my match orders. Meant to rest Cuss given that there will be no fitness reset before next season, meh. Probably lucky that I didn't rest him though, as our batsmen struggled on a cracked pitch, posting 279/7 with Cuss making 143* off 129. We bowled well though, knocked them over for 70 though we had them 26-8 after Gillespie took 4 wickets in one over. This was against a reasonable team too (mediocre top order, respectable seam) so I'm fairly happy with the win. Got my best ratings so far:

Asterix XI
Top Order: superb
Middle Order: competent
Lower Order: woeful
Seam Bowling: strong
Spin Bowling: competent
Fielding: competent

That's on lively fitness, should get a level or two better when I GFI next Friday. I better win since I sacrificed my match last Friday for the sake of getting my fitness up for next week's league match, so I'm down to #2 at the moment, hopefully only for one week.

NO I DON'T. The waiting list in NZ is only 6, so it shouldn't be long. This season is nearly finished so probably better to wait for a few weeks anyway.

Top Order: competent
Middle Order: mediocre
Lower Order: abysmal
Seam Bowling: respectable
Spin Bowling: respectable
Fielding: mediocre

Think I'm improving slightly. Won by 9 wickets, quite happy generally though opening bowlers got hit about and batted quite slowly.

Cheers for the game Alex.

As per usual I lose a mandatory early wicket against a rubbish pair of opening bowlers... My top 3 batsmen always seem to do far worse in friendlies.

My opening bowlers are being put to the sword here by Nibbs

End of Over 13: 83-0, runrate=6.38
Heard 7-0-39-0
Wheat* 39 (46 balls)
Hamshaw 38 (32 balls)

The spinner's on now so hopefully he'll slow things down a bit

Edit:
Yep, Andrew and Giles doing the trick

End of Over 20: 107-0, runrate=5.35
Giles 5-0-18-0
Wheat* 52 (78 balls)
Hamshaw 47 (43 balls)

Wow I finally got a pop. Andrew went up to mediocre bat, and Hessenthaler's concentration up to strong.

Do you guys think I should play Hessenthaler:
Steven Hessenthaler - 18 yo, BT Rating=8,262
LH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, superb form, changeable
(superb batting form, superb bowling form)
An attacking player with competent leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: feeble Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: feeble Concentration: strong
Bowling: woeful Consistency: feeble
Fielding: woeful

over Williamson:
Glenn Williamson - 19 yo, BT Rating=1,726
LH Batsman, LM Bowler, superb form, changeable
(superb batting form, superb bowling form)
A destructive player with superb leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: woeful Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: mediocre Concentration: feeble
Bowling: abysmal Consistency: abysmal
Fielding: woeful

Willamson is a mediocre bat but Hessenthaler has much better secondaries.

Play Hessanthaler. I wouldn't bother training Williamson, you can buy a better batsman for next to nothing, and each net session costs you 2.5k per week as well as depriving someone else of a net session. With that conc I reckon you could sell Hessanthaler for a silly price, that's what I would try to do if he was on my team.

Yeah I was thinking I might get him up to mediocre bat and put him on the market to see what I get for him. I'm not training Williamson, he's just in the team right now as I have no one else.

Edit: Finally got a wicket, Andrew doing his job as allrounder.

End of Over 31: 159-1, runrate=5.13
Andrew 9-1-32-1
Hamshaw* 76 (69 balls)
Lennon 1 (2 balls)

Wheat out for 70 off 118, which is a pity as he wasn't really doing much damage
