Unfortunately he's still got virtually no chance of winning his first 2 ODI league games. I would also buy a good young player (ie 17 or 18 at most) because you've only got 2 players who're really worth training at the moment. Get a good look at the transfer market for a few days so you know what sort of prices are realistic, I would be looking at players in the region of £150k (I would look for a gun batsman initially, your bowling looks a lot stronger than your batting and a gun bat can make a massive difference - just ask Adam, batsmen should also be cheaper). There's no chance of doing anything the league this season so concentrate on building for next season.
Yeah, I think it's better in BT to have a couple of star players surrounded by average players rather than a team full of good players with no stars. Obviously if they fail you might struggle, but because of the way the BT engine runs, they rarely do. If you've got a strong+ batsman with decent secondaries in one of the lower leagues you could probably go through a whole season with him only getting out half a dozen times.

I'd wait until next season to buy a trainee though. If you buy a 17yo now he'll turn 18 in a few weeks which would defeat half the purpose of buying him. There'll probably be a mad rush for trainees at the start of next season, but once it's settled down you should be able to buy 18yo respectable batsmen from around 80k and 17yo's from double that, with a significant markup if you want batsmen with good secondaries.

I'm going to buy a batting trainee early next season to hopefully produce another Cuss. Berry's decent (strong) but his poor secondaries are being shown up a bit by better bowlers this season. Should have around 600k in the bank by next season without having to sell anyone, so looking for a 17yo proficient or high-respectable. Generally respectable batsmen with wages of £1,000+ should only take a week or two to pop to proficient.

Well anyway I would keep looking for bargains, there's always a rush of youth pulls on the transfer market at 5:30pm (at all the corresponding time zones) on Tuesday and occasionally some of them slip by almost unnoticed.

Not a great training update, just one stamina and one fielding pop, both on Badley. Form rises for six players and no drops.

How do I keep track of my training pops?

Might need a newbie explanation because I really don't get the program I downloaded and that got messed up by the new things being added.

Cheers mate, and when do pops happen if I'm in Indian cricket? Are they all at the same time for everyone?
They're all Monday 10:00am local time. The 'local time' obviously differs between countries, so WI are bit behind England, England are a bit behind India, India are a bit behind Australia.

Ah, darn.

So I can't see my pops for this week as I've just downloaded that program things because they've already happened? I've already noticed my WK has popped to competent/proficient (batting/keeping) sometime in the last 2 weeks. :)

Umm, good luck with that. Most people don't start bidding until a few minutes before the deadline. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for well over 50k.

Anyone want to play against my B team this weekend? Cuss and Gillespie won't be playing, and I'll be GFI'ing on Friday, so I should be a pushover.
