Some ludicrous bidding on this guy:

Ryan Walter £97,422 and counting
Plays for: GBLC Sloggers Stamina: respectable W/Keeping: feeble
Age: 18 years old Batting: mediocre Concentration: woeful
BT Rating: 3,189 Bowling: worthless Consistency: abysmal
Deadline: 14/11/2005 soon Fielding: mediocre

I was gonna bid on him at 3k so I could use them as my number 7 bat in OD games and train him at fielding and occasionally batting - my current number 7 is too old to train and has woeful fielding.

What effect does the BTR have on affairs?
Doesn't effect anything directly, it's just a very general indicator of a player's skill levels and form. Walter ended up going for £102,001 btw...

Hmm, so when one of my players had over 8,500 it means he's doing pretty well?

Because I don't rate him that much but he's my highest rating!

As far as your own team goes I'd ignore BT rating, the actual player skill ratings and form are all you need to look at when you're comparing your own players to each other. BT rating doesn't take into account that bowling is a useless attribute for a wicket-keeper for example, so it would give so many points for a wicket-keeper that has feeble bowling even tho it's completely irrelevant. It also tends to give too much rating for secondary skills - I had a player with abysmal bowling and batting but competent and respectable concentration and consistency, he'd be hopeless in a game at batting or bowling but his rating was 5000-6000.

Wow the international thing kicked off pretty quickly didn't it, Wednesday week the first games are. Looks like you've got a lot of work to do Adam, seems the England team already have their own website with players submitted, but I guess you know most of the best players in the WI already so you are on your way, bet you hope you don't get Eng of Aus up first eh?

Yep, we need to get organised very quickly now. We don't have a WI page of our own, so we're just using this one:

http://g.1asphost.com/battricknt/WI/player.asp

So anyone on here with potential NT or u19 players please submit them. We won't be playing England as they've already been challenged by Sri Lanka I think. Interestingly we don't have a single 'home ground', but get a choice on ten club grounds.

This sounds very similar to Sokker manager and Hattrick.

I've signed up for India as it had the shortest waiting list! It should be pretty easy to play for me though considering I play Sokker and haved playe Hattrick.

It runs off the hattrick server, and the name is obviously hattrick-inspired. Quite different in many respects, but the basics are similar.

Okay, who was it who submitted "Adam Collins" to the WI player database? 8-) Whoever did it overestimated my age a bit. :p
