He's awful. :D

I've had an all-rounder with feeble batting and bowling and secondaries of more than mediocre. Other than that, I've had abysmal all the way.

:D Go Gillespie. I doubt he'll manage to maintain that high a standard though, as I can't train him. Do you know where he is on this season's wicket tally? I'm pretty sure he's no. 1 in WI, not sure about in the world (sorry for taking advantage of your membership privileges :p).

Just sold last week's 18yo competent/worthless YP batsman for 39k, not much but enough to at least put me in the black for this week. Should sell out my home game next week so looking forward to a much-needed 125k boost.

Cheers. :) Pretty happy with that, considering he's played three games less than the top guy.

Hmm, this just went for 714k:

1. Nigel Bowditch £714,002 (nuggan)
Plays for: Trike-o United Stamina: woeful W/Keeping: worthless
Age: 21 years old Batting: strong Concentration: mediocre
BT Rating: 9,595 Bowling: woeful Consistency: feeble
Deadline: 13/11/2005 8:11 Fielding: competent

Almost certainly going to sell Berry at the end of the season if I can get that sort of price.

Looking at your team he's probably a star bowler and not too bad a bat. Looks like someone who'll still be in or around your side in a couple of seasons (as your overall level increases they'd still be a decent 5th bowler) so even tho they're 19 it's probably worth giving them some considerable training - probably want his stamina up to feeble at least and it'd be nice to round his secondaries with some fielding training, you could give them bowling training but you could end up waiting til part of the way through next season before he has a primary pop.

Up to you if you want to sell them, but you'd certainly get a lot more if they were more of a finished article.

I'd just give him one bowling net and one fielding till the end of the season, he'd be (at best) proficient/respectable, or (at worst) high-respectable/mediocre. Might want to get his stamina up to at least mediocre IMO. Either way he'll be handy in div IV or V. If I got that player I'd sell him (~200k I'd guess) and try to buy a trainable batsman, since my youth academy's not helping out.

EDIT: Actually, scrap that, you'd get way more than 200k looking at the ridiculous prices on the transfer market atm.

Yep, the prices are crazy, if their secondaries are trained they'll get a lot more again. These two players should give an indication of the sort of difference after they've been sold (transfer history will say how much they went for after you've searched for them)

3. Robert Donovan £ 100,000 (opening price)
Plays for: Cricket is for girls Stamina: woeful W/Keeping: woeful
Age: 20 years old Batting: woeful Concentration: woeful
BT Rating: 5,016 Bowling: respectable Consistency: woeful
Deadline: 13/11/2005 15:04 Fielding: abysmal

9. Malcolm Gillespie £300,000 (bogan browns batters)
Plays for: hardys heros Stamina: feeble W/Keeping: mediocre
Age: 19 years old Batting: woeful Concentration: woeful
BT Rating: 4,018 Bowling: respectable Consistency: mediocre
Deadline: 15/11/2005 19:16 Fielding: woeful

Edit: Actually that's a bit unfair because Gillespie is a spinner and they sell for more, but you get the idea

Got rid of Singh Iali for 5k. Bizarrely enough, Holt, who has almost exactly the same ratings, but better batting and fielding, failed to sell for the same price and was listed right below Singh Iali (though he is 29, Singh Iali's 26). I'll list him again for nothing, then fire him if he doesn't sell.
