Turner 100% Sunny honestly. Him in any kind of SC track against any attack really.turner depends on the context for me.

What? How do you get that? He'd probably average a lot higher considering his runs would be needed tor the team more than they were for Windies in the 80s.
not really convinced, don't think there's a big gap between them on turners in number of runs they'll make anyway so you can go either way.Turner 100% Sunny honestly. Him in any kind of SC track against any attack really.
Imran said it.What? How do you get that?
I think technically Gavaskar is just much more suited for them. Really a no brainer here personally.not really convinced, don't think there's a big gap between them on turners in number of runs they'll make anyway so you can go either way.

Gavaskar has a really solid technique against spin but Viv from what I say almost destroys it using Sehwag esque tactics.I think technically Gavaskar is just much more suited for them. Really a no brainer here personally.
He is the resident Tendulkar hater, taught a generation of Pakistani cricketers to hate Tendulkar. Also said Kohli>Tendulkar
He isn't Sehwagesque to spin though. Solid record early career, but not Sehwagesque anyways.Gavaskar has a really solid technique against spin but Viv from what I say almost destroys it using Sehwag esque tactics.
his 109* at Delhi in 87 too is a display against Spin bowling, I don't think he's literally Sehwag but pretty much a top tier ATG against spin or pace for me.He isn't Sehwagesque to spin though. Solid record early career, but not Sehwagesque anyways.
Not bad but the Indian spin bowling was mid asf and it wasn't really a spinner's paradisehis 109* at Delhi in 87 too is a display against Spin bowling, I don't think he's literally Sehwag but pretty much a top tier ATG against spin or pace for me.
Arshad Ayub got 4 of the 5 falling wickets so unless he was a great bowler there was definitely something for spin, agreed on the mid attack part. Not bad but the Indian spin bowling was mid asf and it wasn't really a spinner's paradise
In the first innings spinners got 1 while WI cruised to 125..... And in the 2nd Ayub got 4, but WI scored 246 rather easily for a 4th innings chase. As a 4th innings Indian pitch, it's hard to rate it particularly spin friendly, especially compared to an average 4th innings Indian pitch. Harper bowled 12 odd overs in the 3rd innings out of 113 and not because the pacers were blasting everything.Arshad Ayub got 4 of the 5 falling wickets so unless he was a great bowler there was definitely something for spin, agreed on the mid attack part.
take out Viv's runs and what did WI make in the second inning? In the first innings spinners got 1 while WI cruised to 125..... I already said it was a Very Good innings, but not necessarily a Very Good innings vs high quality spin or in tough turnertake out Viv's runs and what did WI make in the second inning?
well, you can only work with what you're given.I already said it was a Very Good innings, but not necessarily a Very Good innings vs high quality spin or in tough turner
Yeah, like how Gavaskar isn't rated in Australia by some at all despite averaging good 50+, for Lillee going to play elsewhere.well, you can only work with what you're given.
I don't think either really has anything that gives a definitive or strong edge against spin over the other as far as tests go.Yeah, like how Gavaskar isn't rated in Australia by some at all despite averaging good 50+, for Lillee going to play elsewhere.
On point, it was a Very Good knock, but necessarily doesn't solidifies Viv's case here.
Don't now bring things like "it's only Test" now. If you really want to say Gavaskar has nothing over Viv in SC, I will say Viv has nothing over him in Australia.I don't think either really has anything that gives a definitive or strong edge against spin over the other as far as tests go.
I will give you Gavaskar is better in India if you give me Viv is better in Port of Spain and Bourda type wicketsDon't now bring things like "it's only Test" now. If you really want to say Gavaskar has nothing over Viv in SC, I will say Viv has nothing over him in Australia.
