Am I the only one here who rates Sunil Gavaskar slightly above Viv Richards in Test?

I mean, if there's someone who can complain the least of his list it's me. He rates Grace at 2 and close to Don, Gavaskar at 3 and Trumper top 15!!! WAG List if anything!!
tbh I feel pretty good about the list as well, as I rate Barry and Ranji quite highly as well.

Sunny vs 80s Windies (Quaret doesn't exist frankly)

745 @ 41.33, whatever criticism of consistency or pitches, that's a good record.
if you consider the numbers of 70s when either holding or Roberts played, even though those tests were played entirely on slow wickets, those guys were masters on slow wickets, including 70s runs.

Gavaskar: 1,243 @ 42.86, 5 tons.

net positive

By 2 things:
A) Firstly I entered Marshall so 78 got included
B) Then I forgot of the 2 games he played in 74

soooooo...... Yeah

Edit: Actually in the opposite order
RIP

tho Yeah I think it's the 2 games from 74-75 that led to it being 42.8 instead of 45 odd, well I include that series simply because Roberts was having one of the best serieses by a touring pacer to Asia, 32 wkts in 5 games at average of 18 and strike rate under 40, I'd sing praises of Gavaskar if he made big runs against Robets and Gibbs that series so kinda have to include it (played a decent knock anyway). so I'm doing 74-75, 76, 83 and 84.

Played a good knock in 2 games. Not necessarily Great, but no point in poking as well

Yeah his record against WI is completely fine imo, actually very good if anything, 40+ against that lineup is very good, and he did it while opening and making 5 big tons, what was said about the knock.

Solkar made his first Test century, a dogged, drab innings, but one which India could hardly have done without. Gavaskar made a delightful 86, playing superb shots against Roberts, who could not summon his full pace, and who tended to overpitch
it sounds like he actually managed to push Roberts back in middle of his ATG series, which is a feat.
