All Rounders Poll - Discussion

Line and Length

Cricketer Of The Year
Am I the only one who remembers Trevor Bailey as a fine all rounder? He took over 100 wickets (2.16 wpm) @ 29.21 bowling in support of quicks such as Trueman, Statham and Tyson and spinners such as Laker, Lock and Wardle. This included five 5fers.
His batting average (29.76) was hurt by the fact he was asked to open at times where, in 23 innings, he averaged barely 20. However, batting 5, 6 or 7, where he was for the majority of his innings, he averaged a healthy 36.17.
Sadly, I seem to be the only CW member prepared to vote for Bailey - a player with true all-rounder credentials

Quality player. I seem to be the only one to vote for JR Reid who often gets picked in all-time NZ sides ahead of C Cairns.

I had him in mind, the balance is quite difficult to get now with players like Davidson and Hammond.... Voted him in this round.

Razzaq was a superb ODI allrounder, but his test numbers are pretty poor. Compatriots Shahid Afridi and Azhar Mahmood (his batting in SA!) were arguably more successful in tests. I don't understand his popularity in this poll.
