All Rounders Poll - Discussion

I like allrounders to be big impact players that can win a game with bat or ball. So not saying they had to, but what stands out for me is that McMillan, Dexter and Oram are the only allrounder's never to take a 5fer, while Davidson and Procter the only one's never to score a hundred (Procter didn't even score a 50)

(Btw, I did vote for McMillan, Oram and Davidson)
iirc Davidson did once take a 10’fer and score over 100 runs in a match tbf. iirc the only bloke to do that without scoring a ton.

Davidson maintaining his average (and even better standardised averaged - 27) without hitting a ton almost makes me rate him more in the role he was in. I don't need my bowling allrounder coming in at 7 or 8 to downhill ski a ton, I need him to consistently form partnerships with whoever the remainining batsman is so they don't get stranded and leave runs on the table. If Davidson averaged his 25 with three tons it'd mean he was also getting more low scores, and lower-order tons that end up mattering more than scoring 40 or whatever (or even at all) are rare.
