Fair to say Geelong have missed the boat. Thompson will leave at the end of his contract next year and we'll end up fighting over the scraps with the Kangaroos, Brisbane, Collingwood and Melbourne for a new coach.

There's nothing out there to replace a coach at the moment. The only person I'd want to coach my side who is "in the market" so to speak, is Mark Harvey. Although, I think Gary Ayres would be an OK fit for St. Kilda. But because he's a knob, I hope he misses out again.

I don't mind Ayres as a bloke, but I think Mark Harvey would be the best. He's been in a winning culture for most of his career.

Longmire, Cresswell, Pyke, Harvey, McKenna, Mitchell, O'Donnell.

Plenty of reasonable candidates amongst the assistant coaches. The Saints sacking Thomas this year get the pick of the bunch.
