Whatever it takes!!!
A former Australian captain who is suing Cricket Australia
Allan Border has questions to answer.. 👀👀

But seriously, it sucks. :( The worst part is we dont even what is the way to right such wrongs. Obviously, hopefully learning and not repeating past errors is the first step but how can you even answer for that many years of trauma? :(

Btw, the guy suing is a certified moron

Forget about the fact that he’s a former “Australian Captain”

I would take everything he’s got to say with a massive dose of salt

It’s actually really sad

His son has been afforded every advantage by CA & neither turned out to be good enough so now there’s bitterness

That’s the truth

Qld Shield squad to play WA in Perth

Labuschagne (c), Clayton, Guthrie, Hearne, Khawaja, McDermott, Neser, Peirson, Renshaw, Steketee, Straker, Swepson, Wildermuth

(I assume newbies Hearne and Straker sit out?)

For WA, Green obviously out while Marsh and Hardie playing as bats only. Richardson & Morris out due CA recovery planning, while Paris out with a calf injury

As no other updates, I'm thinking I must be one of the few that still get super excited over an upcoming Shield match 😆

Was hoping to see where Smith batted for NSW, but Maddinson and Davies still exciting, hope Inglis does well, is Carey under pressure for Test spot? Will Hardie go big to take Greens spot if not fit? Will any of Bancroft, Renshaw, Harris make runs? Who's the top pacer to take the field with Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood, Boland, Richardson, Morris and Sutherland confirmed out?

The Test XI is not going to change barring injury

South Australia squad: Jordan Buckingham, Alex Carey, Brendan Doggett, Daniel Drew, Travis Head, Henry Hunt, Ben Manenti, Nathan McAndrew, Conor McInerney, Nathan McSweeney, Lloyd Pope, Liam Scott

So that to me very much suggests Head will not be opening here seeing as McInerney has been picked, which is absolutely the right call IMO. Suspect Pope will be the one running Gatorade out of those 12

Also got a seconds game going on against WA right now out the back at the second oval next to KRO (the one where a few Shield games were played during the badly covid plagued season). WA none for 77 at the time of writing, Teague Wyllie and Sam Fanning on 36 and 37 respectively. Pitch seems pretty dead imo, although I guess that really isn't a surprise

So, Liam Haskett has stress fractures. Gotta wonder what they're teaching these young bowlers. Apparently Beardman's had back issues since his early teens.

So no Fraser-McGurk for SA. Have they given up on him playing Shield?

I guess he'll replace Head in the middle order when on Test duty as McGurk has said opening in red ball is not for him.

All of the guys they've picked are better red ball bats than mcgurk right now or give something with the ball. Can't blame them.

I agree and I don't rate McGurk at all. Selectors seemed to think he was the "new Warner" superstar though so thought they'd pick him no matter what. I don't think I've ever seen a bat with a worse FC record, 16 games, 550 runs @ 18.96 (maybe Jake Doran when he started out was worse?)
