    cricrate: new cricket ratings website

The problem with all these early cricketers is that they never played enough games to normalize statistics. For example, Michael Hussey averages 86.18 for his first 18 games.

He was actually surprisingly economical in ODIs, better than Steyn for instance. And his strike rate was ridiculously good.

India's Upcoming Batsman - How do you rate them?

It is odd how you can see things differently because I see Indian batsman coming through who are very talented but have large technical flaws. Their techniques are exposed as soon as the ball starts bouncing, seaming or swinging. There is the odd exception, of course.

That is a terrible attitude. It essentially does not matter whether they win or lose but you want them to come out and try and bore everyone to death.

I have a suspicion the poor conversion rate to hundreds has a lot to do with his age. He just struggles to maintain the level of effort required for long periods of time. Not really a concern though as he is doing exactly what you want from an opener, blunting the new ball in basically every...

It gives a bit of an idea what it must have been like to see Bradman listed in the team sheet.

I am sure England are delighted to see Watson getting runs.

    Shudder

I have to wonder why you even bothered posting in a forum if you were not interested in dissenting opinions. Let me just point out that you started talking about a sense of humanity and proportion right after trivializing warfare by comparing it to cricket.

    Best opposition fans

Sub-continental crowds seems to spend all their time trying make as much noise as possible. Absolute nightmare for me. England used to be good but now ... Barmy Army. NZ seems to be the last bastion of civilized behaviour at the cricket.

This is what happens when you stuff around with the Sheffield shield. Players have to learn how to play in test cricket.

That article by Martin Crowe is misguided at best and possibly dangerous if people take it seriously. He still wants bouncers bowled "with skill and precision" but wants players to take a less win at all costs attitude. Cricketers are in a dangerous occupation and if they start taking the game...

    1. Red ball swings less than white ball. 2. It is easier to take wickets when someone is trying to smash you.

It is really only injuries keeping him in the side. I honestly think at this point Australia would be better off taking a punt on Moises Henriques or Faulkner.

    How good is Ryan Harris?

You really think that Warne was a better bat than Harris?

Which team failed to produce a single ATG player in last 30 years?

Bevan was a fine left-arm wrist spinner who took his wickets at the very creditable average of 24 (better than Warne), including a best bowling performance of 6/82 in tests. Dhoni was a terrible bowler. Case closed.

    Worst dismissals (finishing) on 99

Asim Kamal got out for 99 in his debut test match. He never scored a test 100.

I just looked at the players at the top of the shield averages this year. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.
