And the reason was not keeping seam straight?

Best Bowler in the death overs of ODI

It depends on the conditions. It might be a spinner if you have a dustbowl.

I guess I need to ask the question the other way then. Which quick bowler didn't swing the ball?

I was thinking of a bowler notorious for never swinging the ball in Glenn McGrath. He was famous for keeping the seam bolt upright and I would have thought he had plenty of backspin on the ball (backspin needed to stop wobble and create bounce?). Was lack of backspin his problem or something else?

Exactly. We eat biscuits here and they come in packets.

That article made me wonder how it is possible to not swing the ball. You bowl cross-seam, I guess.

I find it sad that keepers are now just classed as batsmen.

CW's 50 Best ODI Cricketers of all time - The Countdown

I can't work out how Murali can be a definite for the top 5 and not McGrath. They played in the same era and McGrath has a better average, economy rate and strikerate. Even the eye test tells me McGrath was the better bowler. What am I missing?

They have to stop underperforming in major tournaments first.

Biffrey Lawcott - Has been dismissed twice in his 80 test career to date. Both dismissals were run-outs caused by batting partner in an attempt to win a match.

The Importance of Being a World Cup Winner

World cups are a measure of team performance, not individual performance.

    Brett Lee's Test Career

Lee was very unlucky to have the bowlers around him that he did. He often was told to stop bowling properly and just shake batsmen up so the bowler at the other end would pick up wickets. That and he had a **** captain in Waugh.

The fact that you are falling in love with Dale Steyn over and over is a bit disturbing. I will never look at your posts in quite the same way henceforth.

***Official*** India and England in Australia ODI Tri-Series 2015

You could probably make a fairly decent ODI side out of blokes like that. Gilchrist Tendulkar Bell Smith De Villiers Inzamam Flintoff Murali Vaas Morkell Lee OK, find nice quick bowlers was a struggle.

    Best(current) commentators

It is weird how the passage of time transforms disgust into fondness. They were atrocious. The Ian Healy and Mark Nicholas of the 80s and 90s. Provided no insights into the game and spent most of their time squabbling and trying to one-up each other.

Didin't take long for Starc to lose all job security, apparently. Only as good as your last match.

AB de Villiers now the one and only "AB"

This might be controversial but I don't think I can call de Villiers AB. It breaks the long-standing rule that no-one can give themselves a nickname.

    cricrate: new cricket ratings website

I am not sure how you can know that. The only players who would only play 18 tests over a long period of time now are those dropped for poor form or constantly injured. Not the best comparison.
