Your best current test team is..

The Smith-Amla-Kallis-de Villiers axis was unbeatable. You could almost guarantee one of them getting a ton in any match. Those 4th innings knock from Smith were world class. Oddly, they couldn't rally enough to beat Australia or England at home in their last two tours.

    2015 Final Test Rankings - Steve Smith #1, Williamson #2, Voges #11

Root's got a dead rubber coming up and if The Oval was anything to go by then he may be #4 by the end of the series...

Your best current test team is..

I don't know much about your ranking system, but over what timescale is your score calculated? It's strange to see Australia leading the other Big Three nations by over 50 points. The team has transformed dramatically since the Ashes and won home series against NZ (who bowled terribly) and WI...

Your best current test team is..

England by the slimmest of margins. Solid players to see off the new ball, a dynamic middle order and a balanced bowling attack. They are the only team I can see with a (slim) chance of beating Australia at home in the near future. They have transformed out of sight since the pathetic showing in...

Mitchell Marsh vs Ben Stokes thread

Fair enough, I've only seen a little of him in England and against NZ. Is he a bit like Bresnan then or am I really taking the p*ss?

Mitchell Marsh vs Ben Stokes thread

Stokes is better at all three disciplines at the moment. The first all-rounder since Kallis that looks like he could eventually average 40 with the bat and 30 with the ball. Mitch has promise but he's yet to deliver with the bat (although he's yet to be unleashed on the home roads) or ball and...

Interesting how contrasting his contributions have been in those series: India - 562 runs at 80s. South Africa - 103 runs at 17s.

Was Root's 110 his best test century (yet)?

It wouldn't be an England victory without a little stumble to prevent the 10 wicket win. Final 10 runs cost 3 wickets...

From what I saw in the Ashes, any sort of assistance seemed to completely throw him off his line. For someone I've seen compared to McGrath, I couldn't think of anything more unlike the great man. Plenty, I just can't shake off my natural pessimism especially about England players.

They don't have any great bowlers though. All of them are on a scale from good to okay. Lyon has the most wickets by an Aussie offspinner ever. Not convinced that Starc is a test bowler. Pattinson looks the most like a test bowler out of them all. I don't rate Hazlewood as he performed so badly...

Stuart Broad you beauty! These spells are brilliant! I'm not sure there are many other (fit) contenders for the best bowler in the world at the moment. Stuart is a cut above the other (fit) pacemen around at the moment.

SA turn up when they need to especially when it comes to avoiding defeat at home against England. England have been diabolical at chasing for close to a decade. I don't back us to chase 200 and I think if we bowl okay then SA will get 200 minimum.
