Is Chris Gayle some sort of perverted misogynist or can everyone just settle down?

The SJWs have taught you very well, right out of the textbook. Of course, rational debate and argument isn't on the agenda.

Is Chris Gayle some sort of perverted misogynist or can everyone just settle down?

Gayle was being gross and crass. He made an interview that should have been pleasant, awkward. I don't see this as a big deal as the underlying assumptions are flawed. From the article posted by watson: This is a statement that attempts to undermine millennia of evolutionary imperative. How a...

Is Chris Gayle some sort of perverted misogynist or can everyone just settle down?

Chris Gayle was crass, what he said was probably offensive to the reporter. Who cares? She's a big girl and should have had plenty of practice at rebuffing men. By the look of her, part of the reason she was hired was because she was nice to look at. I guess the broadcaster should fine...

Woeful fielding. Why can't England ever be good at all three disciplines at the same time? England trying their best to draw this match and get Amla and de Villiers into good form so they can take the series 2-1 in Jo'burg and Centurion.

Both these players are going to ton up aren't they? Given we've dropped Amla, he'll almost certainly make a triple now...

Is this pitch too flat for a result? I didn't watch too much of SA's innings, was there any help or movement happening at all?

Stokes now has a better high score and bowling figures in an innings than Jacques Kallis: Stokes 258 & 6/36 Kallis 224 & 6/54

This is so reminiscent of England after Johnson. It's uncanny!

England have been caught out before. WI batter 150 overs against us last year (the longest the Windies have batted in 80 years). I think any more than 650 is excessive because Cook will want the option to not force the follow on.

I don't know, there has been good bounce and carry and a touch of lateral movement. Bad bowling, yes. Great batting, yes. If England can keep it full then there shouldn't be much problem taking 20 wickets. If they bowl as many short balls we'll give the Saffers a chance of a great escape.

I'm so happy I was wrong. This morning has been the most extraordinary in my few years watching test cricket!

We've already had Ian Bell! The thing about Root is that he looks like the only England batsman since the late 80's that could join the 13000 @ 50 club. We've had plenty of good batsmen but we haven't had any great batsman since Barrington.

I really hope that Joe Root doesn't end up as England's VVS Laxman who got 17 centuries and a whopping 56 50-99 scores... The similarities between the to are already quite scary: both have stints as openers who moved to the middle order, score quickly and both have terrible conversion rates.

    Disgusting. Joe does it again.

Having seen each of Root's last 4 dismissals in the 70-80s it's pure indiscipline. Root wants to score quickly and it hurts him because inevitably he gets a wider ball chases it and nicks to slips or keeper. That's the theme generally when Root gets out - pack the slips and have a wary keeper...

I'm only going off what I saw in the first test. Our lower middle order of Stokes, Bairstow, Ali got steamrollered in the first innings at Durban. Stoke and Ali didn't get any runs in the 2nd innings either.

400 should have been the minimum on this pitch. If the tail wags then we should get over 300.

Root has got a serious conversion problem. The last four times he's past 50 he's got out caught by slip or keeper in the 70s or 80s. It's just not good enough for a player of his class, it's so frustrating to watch him bat so well after being dropped by AB only for him to edge an innocuous...

I agree but Cook still scores plenty of runs against him. I've misinterpreted the figures from cricinfo. It's average in innings where x bowler has dismissed Cook. I can't find any accurate bowler vs batsmen data on cricinfo. Might be difficult/impossible to find the stats I'm looking for...
