Lol, suitable way for him to get there. Well played.

Jesus christ, Macca saw Warne wearing that stupid cheese cutter hat once 7 years ago, and he's still making sure he's got one on his head everytime he's in front of a camera.

Lol, love this from Blundell. Just camp down that end and slog the 21 yo spinner on a typical "spin isn't real" Basin deck.

Yeah, Mitchell probably under the least pressure. Latham is also not likely to have to worry about his place for at least another year now that he's captain.

Lol, Harmison: "It's hit them! That's hit the stumps really hard!" Replay clearly shows the ball missed the stumps by a couple of inches. Gower, covering for his mate: "Er yes, you're right."

Yeah, played a very similar innings in SL earlier this year in a low intensity situation when the match was already lost. Stead however will in all likelihood be gone by the next time NZ play a series so I do still think Blundell will need to back this up with a score in a live situation next...

Lol, as soon as Macca said "Phillips likes to defend off the back foot...and that's fine." I knew that was going to happen.

I'd never root against an NZ player in a test. But man, watching Blundell hack his way to an ugly 61 after being dropped on 4 is making it really difficult.

Good tactical drop of Blundell to ensure he plays next week

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Seemed to be pigeonholed in the deputy Wagner role - which to be fair he did very well. Picked up 10 wickets bowling into the armpit. Looked great this morning, bowling quick and hitting a challenging length (though he was probably bowling a touch too wide from what I saw).

Really hard to remember a harder beating than this. Even the 2nd test in SL we made a decent fist of our 2nd innings.

    That's a Latham special

Big call to say NZ are making it to lunch.

Lol, don't think Latham has scored a single run off the middle of the bat so far.

Jeez you could drive a bus through the gap between bat and ball there.

Yeah, get Mariu in for the third test.

I'm looking forward to a Tom Blundell 43 being used as justification by Latham for his continued selection.
