Don't ever remember him being considered for England. On form he would have been a certain starter in the late 20s

Books 2013: Something Uncommon In the Flight

He was a great uncle of Newk, so that may be a start and I think he lost part of his hearing after being hit by a short ball, thanks to Tibby Cotter

Books 2013: Something Uncommon In the Flight

Thanks for going to the trouble of posting on our forum, especially with such a quality post. I must admit I have no knowledge of John Kinloch, but can guarantee at least one sale. Kudos to Roger for backing an obscure cricket personality, he has done a lot for cricket book publishing in...

India, Australia, England attempt to take control of Cricket

20/20 is a different sport to cricket. So If their happy to be the best at a poor imitation of the real thing, then I suppose that's fair enough

***Official*** Pakistan v Sri Lanka in UAE 2013/14

Good post thanks for that. Although Test cricket is still popular in Australia and England. 92k on the opening day at the MCG and a sold out Ashes series in England confirm that. I knew it was bad but thought Test cricket still rated fairly well on TV in the subcontinent but your post suggests...

haha, he does have charisma but it can't be easy to be a Test fan if they hardly play a match. it's funny cricketers don't seem to be treated like demigods in Pakistan like they are in India

***Official*** Pakistan v Sri Lanka in UAE 2013/14

Well I don't want confrontation and know I'm pretty safe on CW  Was just hoping someone from the sub continent could tell me what the feel is and if Test cricket is as good as dead there. I think the theory that 20-20 would attract new fans to Test cricket is just not happening.

***Official*** Pakistan v Sri Lanka in UAE 2013/14

A pity I can't relate. Surely every thing that is good about the game is here in Test matches. Actual batting skill and not just hitting sixes on a road. Even this with the batsman farming the strike is fascinating and just can't happen in 20-20

***Official*** Pakistan v Sri Lanka in UAE 2013/14

Three Tests in the year? SL cricket board, hang your head. The players keep saying how they think it the No.1 form of the game and only player power can stop the slide. Or are the fans just not interested in Test cricket on the sub continent?

Who is South Africa's Greatest Batsman

I think Pollock. I have not read too much on this not liking the short ball? Was still smashing the Rebel teams around when close to the age of 50. Played his Test cricket without a helmet and can't remember any reference to him having trouble with the short ball. Holding thought Barry...
