You life will officially be over when.....

Richie Beaud, he has been on TV since I can remember and has the same birthday as me. Bradman was also a big loss. The three heroes from my childhood, Greg Chappell, Rod Marsh and Dennis Lillee

Left Handed ATXI for All Teams

Yeah a spinner would have been nice. Was not happy with Ferris being excluded, the match he played for England was hardly even considered first class at the time. Bill Whitty was unlucky as well and perhaps Fleetwood'Smith may have been dangerous:)

Just a couple of things: Australia were not that far in front of England as a Test team. England won the 1928-29 Series 4-1, lost the 1930 & 34 & 36-37 series in the final Test, drew the 1938 series and won the 1932-33 series. That to me is pretty close working it out in my head before the war...

Bit nervous and throws too many words into his points. Also says 'us' and 'we' when talking about the Australian team. Still is making interesting points and may mature into a good commentator:)

It should also be noted that even Australia were not given more than 3 day Tests in England until 1930 and then they were only given four days

I didn't realise that, saved me some work, so thanks for that:D Just on the Fender books, I have manged to find copies with DJs for all his books except the 1920-21. Have you ever spotted a copy with a DJ?

    OK, these are for the 1930 series, if this is helpful I could do it for the 1934 and 29-29 series:) So they go balls - runs - wickets. No idea why he has Wall:wacko: I imagine it's suppose to be Larwood:D Wall = 147 - 137 - 1 Tate = 461 - 238 - 3 Robins = 87 - 70 - 1 Tyldesley = 189 - 102...

Ponsford and others felt the Tate of 1928-29 (Bradman debut) was not a patch on the Tate of 1924-25

Good stuff. I think Fender gives the runs scored by each batsman of each bowler in his Ashes books for the 28-29, 1930 and 1934 series:)
