*Official* Australia A in New Zealand 2022/23

Lost track of this series with the Easter break. Seems like a huge deal that Abbas has been thrust into the A team. Wow. Stoked for him. Is the change injury related or just mixing it up? Stead and Larsen obviously see him as the real deal. At this rate he could be in the test side in 12 months.

At least it will mean I can watch cricket at the Backbencher again.

Peter Williams commentated a NZ A v India A game a few years ago and I was surprised how good he was. I guess TVNZ might try to bring back Ian Smith now he's a free agent. Adam Parore was quite good when he did it for a season or two in the mid 00's. Peter McGlashan is also good.

John Bracewell on radio compared him to Warner in terms of build which he thought was ideal for a batsman. Hope Braces continues whoever picks up the radio comms next summer. James Marshall & Chris Harris were good also. Zealandia is great. I think Spark were amazing in terms of making full...

NZ's Ken Williamson Will missed 2023 WC in india

Yes, it likely means that Wilbur Young or Denis Foxcroft will replace him.

NZ's Ken Williamson Will missed 2023 WC in india

Maybe they could bring in the world's strongest man Ken Patera instead?

Surprised to check the score and see that they got up! Foxcroft really knocking on the door across all formats now. Lovely cameo from Dougeh.

*Official* New Zealand domestic season 2022/23

What a finish to the season for CD. I forgot Clarkson's FC ton a couple of weeks ago was also against Canterbury (to go with his ton in the Ford Trophy final) and winning that game put them in position to win the shield if they won this game. A breakthrough season for him and maybe Ray Toole.

Canterbury must be pissed at this Akl effort. I thought Toole looked good in Super Smash and his FC record is pretty good. Great name too.

Ravindra and Sodhi would probably have done better, but can't quibble too much. Well bowled.

Argh, Heaphy run out on 56. Was hoping he could join Parkes, Abbas and Clarke in bringing up a maiden FC ton. Glad he got some runs though and that Will Clarke is playing this game too.

Ha, true. Although his record as ODI captain is actually good :-)

Young and Dean Foxcroft may come into the reckoning if the ICC get of their arse.

Young has such a classical batting style, probably my favourite to watch at the moment in the Black Caps. Great to see him see it through. And well played Nicholls, I wouldn't have picked him for this game but can't deny he has a good temperament for that type of situation.

Gary Troup had an outstanding record, and particularly did well in the World Series in the early 80's. Not sure how he only played 22 games. @thierry henry may be able to confirm but I think Troup was one of the tallest to play for NZ too. https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/gary-troup-38617

Munro had a pretty good BBL too? I vaguely recall that when he got axed from the T20 side his record in the two seasons beforehand was surprisingly good. His overall international T20 record is 65 games, average of 31 at a strike rate of 156.44. He was probably slightly hard done by while they...
