I thought of you the other week when I came across a scorecard.
Turns out the oh so generous Australia declared at...486/9 in the first test of the 01 series. 84/2 in the second to make time for a victory as is encouraged in cricket.
Meanwhile the lucky kiwis also made a very sporting declaration, declaring well behind at 287/8 with two bowling allrounders in.
One team had more to gain from a timid draw there.

I reckon he saw it but thought it was too funny not to give out.
Also I was a child at the time I'm allowed to get my details mixed. Main gist is NZ pure, wonderful, players certainly never obnoxious or engaged in alleged match fixing later in life. Aus are bad and evil and details must be viewed in the worst possible light. Bunnings sandpaper.

Tbf, iirc, Warne nicked off to Bond when he was on about 60 and wasn’t given. That test was a bit of a shower for the umpires.

I haven't seen too much of him tbf (a few white ball knocks) but I think he needs more red ball runs just so he can graduate knowing how to play long innings even though he will likely bat at #7.
On checking I see his FC average has jumped like 15 runs this season. It was in the 20s during his absence.
Still though, if I'm to remain consistent then he has a bit of work to do to outshine Cole McConchie.
