*Official* South Africa Tour of the West Indies, AUGUST 6th to 26th, 2024-- 2 TESTS & 3 T20Is

This. Plus listening to coach Coley, he's asked to keep this group together because he feels there is too much chopping and changing. God help us if we have this batting lineup for the next year. Even by our standards, this test has been horrendous.

I'm genuinely close to giving up on this test side tbh. I'm just not enjoying watching them anymore, it's not a brand of cricket I identify with at all. Our bowling is the only reason I've kept the faith over the last year or so. I might join you and watch something else.

In those days it was in April so you could watch it just before England's home season as well. Pretty much perfect. It does feel surreal for our home season to start in August.

That was one of the worst session performances I've seen for a long time lol. Insipid batting, seriously ordinary new ball bowling by Roach, bad wicket keeping by Josh, a dropped catch, a spinner wasting the new ball. These guys really make it hard to support them sometimes!

This. It's about balance. We have a team of plodders who can't even turn over the strike. Our batting here has been meek and pathetic, no other words for it. If there were even 3 days full play here we would lose. I don't think it's good enough at home. It's one thing at Lords with no practice...

Couldn't agree more. None of these batsmen are special. It's so depressing.

I honestly think attendance would go up if we had batsmen people actually look forward to watching, at least in the evening sessions and on the weekend. Who in this XI would you see hit a signature shot and think it worth the entrance fee? Athanaze can sometimes play like that, but not...

As a brand it's pretty toxic. I pretty much only enjoy it when we bowl nowadays and I'm.an absolute diehard fan. Can't complain at the low crowds when a) there is zero marketing in T & T b) they would be paying to watch this style of batting.

I'm honestly so bored of this approach. It's just a matter of time until one keeps low or they make a mistake, unless you get Maharaj off this length.

Literally the very start of it in Guyana though right? Even a slight divergence or variation and we could be watching more rain.....

Yep international cricket is not a serious sport that values fair competition. I guess we'll just draw every series at home in the future until everyone completely gives up on red ball cricket.

Heritage right there. Without wishing yo go down the test cricket is being killed by the ICC rabbit hole again, this is not the best time to host cricket in the Caribbean, especially in T & T and Guyana. Our home season has been totally shafted by IPL and the WTC.

One indicator of this frenism will be Kraigg throwing the ball to Warrican before Motie. Just wait and see.

I'm looking forward to seeing Carty. He is more technically equipped to handle world class bowling than Kirk. But yet again, his FC record indicates he finds a way to get out anyway. Given his record, we can't expect much.

I think it's a mixture of Bajanism and Frenism. I understand he's good mates with Kraigg. Either way, the Bajan premium is alive and well. The only other thing I can think of is that they just don't rate Brian Charles as an offie. In which case he shouldn't be in the squad.

They've stopped selecting him again. At the moment we're back in that familiar space where it doesn't matter what he does in FC cricket, he won't be selected.

That attack lacks any pace at all. Jayden is the fastest at 85/86 mph. I also just don't rate Warrican at all. Two left arm spinners, one of whom is so much better than the other. This could be a long test.

*Official* West Indies Tour of England, JULY 9th to 25th, 2024-- 3 TEST MATCHES

Joseph's average speed was down by 4 mph in this series as compared to Australia. His top speed in Australia ws nearly 93mph, here he barely broke 90mph. He was not fit. Case closed. Your other points about Australia not being arsed because of all their previous achievements etc, probably has...

*Official* West Indies Tour of England, JULY 9th to 25th, 2024-- 3 TEST MATCHES

Shamar came into the Australia series with a home 4 day season, an A team series against South Africa and a warm up in Australia behind him. He took bucket loads of wickets in all of those. In England he had just spent 4 months sitting on the bench in white ball squads, missed the warm up due...

So essentially they've decided they don't need a back up opener. Considering how poor McCaskie is, I agree. Shall we assume Greaves is back up for Holder? Otherwise I'm not quite sure how he would get in either. I can only think they decided they might need a third spinner, otherwise it's...
