Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

Given that he is the best test player of the era by far he does become a candidate. But just about, I'd say.

Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

You have to adjust for era. 72 isn't all that bad. Better than Greenidge and Haynes, and also Miandad afair.

Combining ODI and Test records, who are the 5 greatest cricketers ever?

Imran underrated in ODIs but yes Akram has a worthy case too.

India will not travel to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy

If BCCI did that I'd definitely be against that (I have an instinctive dislike for the BCCI). But I don't think they are?

    Brian Lara vs Sunil Gavaskar

Viv Richards' matches had low average because of bowlers on his own team.

    **Official** 1st Test @ Perth, 22nd-26th November

Rohit and Gill out of first test. Not sure what is Rahul's status?

India will not travel to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy

Likewise, Zimbabwe, SL and Kenya never declined to play in England, Australia and New Zealand. So this is rubbish.

    India team RR thread

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/aus-vs-ind-shubman-gill-a-doubt-for-perth-test-after-suffering-hand-injury-1459981 It won't be an Australia tour without players getting injured every other day.

India will not travel to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy

No country played in Pakistan for almost a decade. That was all fine? Australia refused to play in SL in 1996 world cup, England refused to play in Zimbabwe and New Zealand in Kenya in 2003. Brown people can also decide for themselves, no? Pakistan and ICC should go ahead with the tournament...

    Brian Lara vs Sunil Gavaskar

Daily reminder: Sobers' batting was closer to Imran's than to Bradman's.

    Brian Lara vs Sunil Gavaskar

To pretend that Viv Richards faced the same pace examination as Gavaskar (or Border or Miandad or Gooch) is also patently false.

    Brian Lara vs Sunil Gavaskar

Yeah he had good series against great pace bowlers. But you can't just call it toughest era for West Indian batsmen because what made it arguably toughest was West Indian attack itself. You go on dissecting Gavaskar's record against attacks with multiple ATG pace bowlers by grounds. You can't...

    Brian Lara vs Sunil Gavaskar

What toughest era? He did not face the toughest bowling attack of the era. Imran and Hadlee were hardly the bowlers they would become. It was only really Lillee who was a truly great bowler at his best that Viv Richards faced.

    Herbert Sutcliffe vs Jack Hobbs

Stanley Jackson averaged 48 which is 10 short of Hobbs. But he played only 20 tests and scored under 1500 runs.

Don't even bring up Steve Smith.
