All time BGT XI

Thala_0710

First Class Debutant
A similar exercise was done before, but it isn't open to replies (at least for my privelige level), and the fact that 2 more BGTs have taken place in the time period.
So what is your all time BGT XI, considering only the 1996-current time period (the period in which it has been officially known as the BGT)
I'll go:
BGT XI
Hayden
Sehwag
Pujara
Sachin
Smith*
Pant+
Jadeja
Cummins
Lyon
Mcgrath
Bumrah

BGT XI A
Katich
Vijay
Ponting*
Kohli
Clarke
Laxman
Dhoni+
Kumble
Gillespie
Hilfenhaus
Hazlewood

BGT XI B
Langer
Dravid
Labuschagne
Martyn
Hussey
Waugh*
Gilchrist+
Harbhajan
Siddle
Lee
Shami

Only change I think I strongly believe in is Laxman in the 1st team, atleast over Pujara. 281, 74, 163; way too many iconic knocks.

Jadeja has taken 85 wkts @18.85 and scored 500+ runs as well. Surely he makes the A team at least?

Laxman has the iconic performances, but Pujara has been very consistent and too important in the 3 BGT wins from 2016-2021. He was MOTS in the 2018 series and played a very crucial role in the 20-21 win too. And has been probably even better at home. So I had to have him, especially at no 3. Between Jadeja and Laxman it was close, but chose Jadeja for the team balance

His away record in Australia is a little sus as he never played outside of SCG and MCG, two grounds quite conductive to spin. As bowlers, I will keep Ash, Kumble and Lyon ahead. Now, as he is an all-rounder...... I think I will make it an A.

Oh, Also I won't have Ponting over Dravid. Yes, Ponting was a beast vs India at home, but was legit pathetic away, especially in the 2001 series. Dravid may have scored only 2 centuries vs Australia, but both are more valuable than all of Ponting's vs India.
