Is Bumrah the best cricketer India has ever produced?

For me, the 4 greatest Indian cricketers in order are Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Kapil and Dravid. Ashwin is certainly in discussion for #5, but so are Kohli and Jadeja. Bumrah, if and when he has a proper career would be having a good case for top 3. Hopefully Pant and Jaiswal have great careers too.

    Absurdly Awesome Cricket Stats

Viv Richards averages exact 47 with the bat in ODIs. He took exact 100 catches in ODIs. He played exactly 500 List A matches. He took exactly 150 international wickets. He captained WI in exactly 50 tests. In his best batting year in 1976, he averaged exactly 90 in tests.

What is the most difficult cricket shot to successfully pull off?

He played a number of on drives in that 281 innings. Those drives against the spin were some of the best shots one could see.

Great lower order batting teams in history?

The catch he took to dismiss Azhar was incredible.

Malcolm Marshall vs Glenn McGrath (as Test bowlers)

I really envy the job descriptions of @subshakerz and @kyear2 that allow them to spend this much time on the forum. I am also contemplating sending my CV to them to refer my to these lucrative job roles.

Malcolm Marshall vs Glenn McGrath (as Test bowlers)

Mcgrath when Marshall is over-rated. Marshall when Mcgrath is over-rated.

    Marshall Vs Sobers

I too agree with the assessment, however one stat that might interest you. Imran averaged better than Marshall between Marshall's debut and retirement.

Jack Hobbs vs Ravindra Jadeja (technique)

Jadeja easily. Bumrah(when he is not bowled leaving straight balls) vs Hobbs will be close.

    Richard Hadlee vs Imran Khan

You guys have spent enough time discussing past cricketers. Now invest some time in modern pros like Azam Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Shivam Dube, Iftikhar Ahmed.

    Muttiah Muralitharan vs Viv Richards

This thread has all the makings of a spicy thread as well.

    Ravichandran Ashwin vs Clarrie Grimmett

What kind of example is this ? 9/298 in a match which Aussies lost by 675 runs lol. He bowled 84 overs to get those many. Ashwin will be bashed to no end if he turns up with that kind of a show. Probably already did something like that in 2011-12 or 2014-15 series and has been endlessly ridiculed.

    Richard Hadlee vs Imran Khan

I don't see an issue with Imran's average of 25 in WI. It came at a great strike rate (though undoubtedly boosted by a weakened batting lineup in 1988). His overall SR of close to 60 overseas a bit meh though by ATG standards. It is fair enough to take out his debut year and 90s, but that...

    Indian Cricket Dhaba

I wouldn't give up that Gabba victory for anything. When you are going through a low in life, just watch that highlights. So so epic.

    Viv Richards Vs Warne

It was Arshad Ayub and Maninder Singh who were the spinners, but the point still stands. A sure shot loss was in cards for WI until Viv did Viv things. Given that Hirwani ran through the side so spectacularly later in the series, this would have been the first series WI lost since 1980. They...

    Viv Richards Vs Warne

Sehwag batted at a SR of 112 in 2009 NZ test series. His lowest SR in any innings in that series was 94.11. All other innings he struck above 100. And he had a poor series.
