What would an ATG game really look like?

My team will beat the hell out of both the teams. Remember the impact ratios. Alec Stewart Clyde Walcott Kumar Sangakkara Andy Flower AB de Villiers Rishabh Pant Les Ames Jeff Dujon Ian Healy Wasim Bari Godfrey Evans

Which players would be locks in every OTHER country’s ATG XI?

I do not get all the Miller scrutiny here. 23 with the ball and 37 with the bat is a mighty fine cricketer. May be he is a little worse than that bowling average suggests due to workload criteria, but Australia will happily take him in their ATG team, so will most others. Most teams need a 5th...

    Rahul Dravid vs Graeme Pollock

Calling Kapil Dev a jack of all trades is very disrespectful and takes you a notch down as a poster in my estimate. He played in an era of ATG bowlers and ended up with more wickets than all of them, which means he had one quality which others did not have, i.e. endurance. That is even before...

    Rahul Dravid vs Graeme Pollock

Probably the only time I saw Pollock live on TV. Thoroughly enjoyed this innings. Great cover driving.

    Rahul Dravid vs Graeme Pollock

Nah, I won't say that. Chanders and Yusuf are generally accepted as great players, hence it is fair to rate them higher on virtue of a full career.

    Rahul Dravid vs Graeme Pollock

Sadly yes. It is the way it is. I know it is unfair to Pollock, but we can't be rating players based on hypotheticals. And a large part of the peer reputation that you are arguing in favor of Pollock(which he deserves) is due to his performances in FC. Can't be used to judge him as a test...

Team of Jadejas vs Team of Ashwins

It will be hilarious to watch them keep wickets.

When was the zenith of each side?

Indian cricket reached it's zenith in this match. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/nidahas-t20-series-2017-18-1133811/bangladesh-vs-india-final-1133823/full-scorecard

    Rahul Dravid vs Graeme Pollock

It is disrespectful to Dravid to rate a player with 20 something tests ahead of him. Bradman is just about the only post first world war batsman who should be ahead of him if the sample size was less than 25 tests. Dravid between 2001-2004 alone did more than Pollock did in his whole career...

    Virender Sehwag vs Clive Lloyd

Sehwag did pass some of the hardest tests you could imagine. It is just that he did them in the comfort of his home and familiar neighborhood (in the presence of invigilators of course). Some of the others had to travel to the examination center to do it.

    Virender Sehwag vs Clive Lloyd

That would be Hewag. Shewag was the goddess.

    Virender Sehwag vs Clive Lloyd

Lloyd for me, as he nurtured Garner from a nothing bat to a world class willow holder.

A De Silva Vs D Jones

Jones clearly better in ODIs, but in tests he had a knack of turning up in the dead rubber matches. Also had a much shorter career compared in Aravinda. I will go with De Silva in tests.

Who is Asia's sixth greatest cricketer?

    Not really 14 but 16 over a 14 year time period. https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/ross-taylor-38699

    M Kaif Vs S Raina

Kaif would have become the most prolific six hitter of all time but opted not to because he did not need to.

Who is Asia's sixth greatest cricketer?

Apparently you have poisoned peoples' minds.

    Pace Quartet or Spinner

Personally, I wouldn't bench Garner or Holding for Gibbs. And that is without even talking about Big Bird's batting.

Who is Asia's sixth greatest cricketer?

Bond ahead of Kapil has to be some kind of a joke. Removing minnows (BD and Zim), he has taken 63 wickets at a little over 26. And that includes wickets in the 2002 series against India where every one was taking easy wickets. Hardly a sample size to compare with any established bowler at the...

    Javed Miandad vs Graham Gooch

This comparison is really odd. Gooch better than his stats suggest but Miandad clearly a couple of tiers above that this isn't close.

Who is Asia's sixth greatest cricketer?

Applied statistics, the single most source of truth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistics#Applied_statistics,_theoretical_statistics_and_mathematical_statistics
