Imo not more than 35. That's the most I can see Greig doing with a 12-13 year long career. And no, definitely averaging 40 would got him more contracts alongside his 30 something bowling avg

....so? I was discussing their international careers, Greig legit has the winning capability and stats of a full time fromtline batter, his away record is stellar, Jadeja is more in line with the batting of Kapil (tho I prefer the latter)
well then it's a thing of careers, I don't think it'd drop much considering Greig had a very solid trips, if he has a long stretch where he has to play all his games in England then maybe considering he seems flawed to side ways movement.

I think it's alright then. I just don't rate really highly for his FC record. 35 is good, and better than Jadeja on quality, but don't think the difference is very big. I have Shakib easily ahead for basically being his team's best bowler and top 3 batsman. And once again, were credit is due, Greig has stellar knocks vs WI and Australia. I just use FC stats for players with very short Test careers for circumstances, and Greig's ones hurts him tremendously.
Shakib's numbers against the Big three + SA and even SL kind of leave a bad taste in my mouth

I judge him mostly by his test career while giving him longetivity penalty while you and Luffy consider his First class career a lot so obviously there is gonna be a difference of opinion.
