**Official** 5th Test at Sydney, 3-7 Jan 2025

If Khawaja is ever going to get out of his form slump then it'll be at the SCG. In 8 tests he has 832 runs @ 104.00 with 4 hundreds

At the other end of the scale the SCG is not a happy ground for Starc. In 9 tests he has 24 wkts @ 44.16, best bowling 3/25 (how much is this due to fatigue when SCG test comes around?)
fatigue. he is a fast bowler. left arm fast.

Rohit sharma glaring stat-

His current average of 6.20 for the series is lower than West Indian great Courtney Walsh, a champion with the ball but far less so with the bat in hand, who averaged 7.75 in the 1996/97 tour.

any city that boasts of a place like redfern within the city automatically disqualifies from these lofty titles

(i lived right on the edge of redfern in chippendale)
lol Chippendale is fantastic. As is Redfern. Once the gays move in, every area is.

Hasn't Redfern gentrified to the moon in the last ten years? Been a while since I've been tbf

Shri is on sketchy ground and will need to explain himself about what it is that he dislikes about Redfern

the gays are in erskinville/newtown

redfern is just home base for muggers thieves and druggies in general

australia was under tremendous pressure going into melbourne and india dropped the game at 104-6

i really would have loved to see aussies under pressure respond to a 1-2 situation in sydney

now they will be all over india and will go for 3-1, i don't see a comeback for india

Some of the back streets are still kinda sus (the ones with big housing commission blocks) but the main drag is fine. There are way sketchier suburbs than Redfern, but most parts of Sydney are pretty safe.

I mean I've spent time in Atlanta so I don't think there's really anywhere in the big Aus cities which truly count as "unsafe".

Though tbf when we move house, we've already crossed out Elizabeth as a possible suburb to move into, so I guess there's still thresholds we won't cross.

Yeah Chippendale is beautiful now with Central Park, university campus, art galleries and eateries. Redfern is alright too.

Would be the same for these two
Anderson 5 Tests 15 wickets @ 32.93 4/66
Broad 3 Tests 10 wickets @ 37.50 5/101

Can confirm that Shri's explanation is dire. He's got questions to answer
Mate there was a beggar in redfern who looked me up and down because I tossed a 50 cent coin into his hat. Tossed it and nailed the landing. Redfern would probably be good without the locals

Whatever it takes!!!
India typically works differently iirc - selectors pick the squad, captain and coach have a huge say in the team selection.
TBF this is how almost all touring teams operate. Selectors select the squad and team management (coaches captain, maybe vice-captain) select the playing XI. We are just in a shitty situation where the captain is the least deserving of a place in the XI. It has happened quite a few times in cricket tbh and its always rough for the fans.

Our Kiwibros went through it during their series in SL.

Fun Fact: India have only ever won one test at the SCG. That was way back in 1978 when the Packer WSC decimated the Aussie team and 42 year old Bob Simpson came out of 11 year retirement to captain
We should have won in 2019 that too by innings. Aussies were lucky rain saved their ass

Hope we win to shut all the mouths criticizing ud😉
Nah, this is a team with its spirit broken unlike the previous tour where they kept going from strength to unlikely strength. They had the ideal chance to turn things around at the G but fluffed it in ways I haven't seen since Sam Curran kept trolling us out of winning situations
