**Official** 5th Test at Sydney, 3-7 Jan 2025

International Coach
This and the Oval are the two venues that TPC usually scores even when he is out of form. Wouldn't be surprised if he tons up here

Now that I said it though, probably a king pair

Be a massive turnaround if he does. you’d have got long odds on him making three tons in this series when he was about 20 not out in the first dig at Brisbane. He looked on his last legs.

Whatever it takes!!!
Coming back to the cricket, we are not winning or drawing this if we keep playing Rohit and Virat. Most likely, they may find the courage to say that Rohit was injured in the nets. Ideally, I would like to see...

Rahul
Jaiswal
Gill
Washy
Jurel (wk)
Jadeja
Sarfraz
NKR
Akash
Bumrah (c)
Siraj

But most likely, we will get

Rahul
Jaiswal
Gill
Virat
Pant (wk)
Jadeja
NKR
Washy
Akash
Bumrah (c)
Siraj

Do u really think that the selfless captain will drop himself for Gill?

I'm feeling pretty queasy with the possibility of Aus playing both Abbott and Marsh. Really hoping Starc is fit for the final.

Abbott is 32 and has a fc bowling average of >30

Never thought I would say this in 2024 but Edwards is better

He doesn't actually get to decide.
India typically works differently iirc - selectors pick the squad, captain and coach have a huge say in the team selection.

Of course the selectors can always override this though which there’s a chance of happening this time.

If Khawaja is ever going to get out of his form slump then it'll be at the SCG. In 8 tests he has 832 runs @ 104.00 with 4 hundreds

At the other end of the scale the SCG is not a happy ground for Starc. In 9 tests he has 24 wkts @ 44.16, best bowling 3/25 (how much is this due to fatigue when SCG test comes around?)

I like the idea of "selectors pick squad, captain picks eleven" generally, but when the captain's place isn't secure it's an obvious conflict of interest and the selectors should be deciding that for him if he doesn't step down.
