**Official** 5th Test at Sydney, 3-7 Jan 2025

What's the single biggest change India can make to ensure they win at SCG?

Easy, make Bumrah captain!

Bumrah won the first test as captain, then Sharma took over losing 2-0 in 3 tests to go with his 3-0 vs NZ. Also as no longer captain, Sharma doesn't make the team so Gill comes back.

But in reality, Pant should be dropped for a game as an example a minimal level of intelligence expected when batting. Obviously, Rohit and Kohli should go, which they won't.

Not that this is a likely team, but I would play the following team in Sydney:
  1. Jaiswal
  2. KL Rahul
  3. Gill
  4. Paddikal
  5. Sarfaraz
  6. Jurel
  7. Jadeja
  8. Reddy
  9. Deep
  10. Bumrah
  11. Krishna
Approx 0% chance of this happening, but that's how I would do it.

Jurel is a better keeper and honestly, he may be a better Test batter until Pant gets a little bit more mature with his batting.

its a political game is cricket. Other sports no politics involved. same with australia, they refusing to rest Starc and keep playing the RG sharma equivalent of Mitch Marsh..

Assuming Rohit and Kohli cannot be dropped, I’d play the same side. If you can drop them just swap them for Jurel and Sarf/Gill/Paddikal.

If Rohit and Kohli are picked to play (which clearly shows they aren't serious about retaining the BGT ) , then I strongly urge them to rest Bumrah. No need to add more miles to his body for a lost cause, especially when the outcome is decided before the game even begins.

They will sit on their *** and do nothing all match, while working him like a fat, rich Brahmin guy sitting on a Nepalese rickshaw driver's back as he takes them up the Himalayas
