Yeah, Hammond before the war averaged 62.W.R Hammond, easy one.
Just wish he didn’t comeback at the age of 43 to ruin his reputation by a bit to face Lindwall and Miller.
Third is a bit high, but taking that as it is.Hammond the third best Test batsman of all time for mine.
And that's a bit of an understatement.Third is a bit high.
Top 3 cricketer of all time well maybeThird is a bit high, but taking that as it is.
The 3rd best bat ever, the greatest slip ever and an underrated and more than useful 5th bowling option.
I assume he's a top 3 cricketer of all time for you, possibly even higher?
One of my favorite cricketers though. And that's a bit of an understatement.
He doesn't rate Sobers's batting nearly as highly.Top 3 cricketer of all time well maybe
but not higher cause of bradman & sobers
Hammond over Chappel for me, Sunny vs Hammond is the split I struggle with, it just seems like Sunny was more skilled of the two, Hammond had the X factor and was more dominant.Yeah, as I've said, I have Gavaskar, Hammond and Chappell rated practically equally and who is ahead depends on the day.
There you go. Everybody grab your popcornWho here thinks Barry Richards makes it to an all time world xi?
Just like Victor Trumper.I think Hammond is one of the cases who'd be rated higher if he played today, the way everyone talks of him makes me feel there was something more about him than just the numbers.
and Graham Gooch, thankfully we've the footageJust like Victor Trumper.
Yeah. Always thought he was better than Hobbs.Thankfully we've the footage
Gooch>Bradman imoYeah. Always thought he was better than Hobbs.
You know what? High-five!Gooch>Bradman imo
Hammond - one of my favourite players.
If we’re talking FC + tests, he has an argument, though personally he wouldn’t make it for me, he belongs in the discussion. If we’re talking tests, no.Who here thinks Barry Richards makes it to an all time world xi?
