All we need now is someone to mention Prince's libertarian friend Christina Southern (?).

Ah, well I don't really want to mention her in CC because it comes up on google but I know who you mean now.
I was just ****ing around ftr.

I didn't really know it was a personal friend you actually don't want to mention and just thought the N&P thing was about a random e-girl you vaguely know memed with you because of your politics. Sorry for that.

We've had a bit of a falling out but we were certainly friends for a while and it probably wouldn't be good if she knew people still teased me on a cricket forum about being in love with her or whatever.

Anyway, Hammond > Gavaskar. He certainly played on some flat pitches and cashed in against lower sides but when I tried to standardise for this his average actually went up. A serious gun IMO.

I think Hammond is a better batsman but it's a bit insane that Gavaskar is clearly the best opener post 1955. That is a long ****ing time.

Who else was in his league since then? G Smith maybe?
Smith, Hayden and Sehwag had much shorter careers than Gavaskar though, even if you agree to a really strained case that what they did in the 00s is as impressive as Gavaskar's record.

I'd probably take Greenidge over G Smith - he had an amazing first decade with the bat which is longer than the bulky 3s careers and he added a ton of value even after that for 5-6 years as a 40 average Andy. Even Boycott is probably better than the 00s 3.
