Tongue equally fits the description of "....the always seemingly injured..." He's been ruled out of most of this season, replaced by his franchise. Certainly won't be playing the WIndies tests.

If this is Josh Tongue's first injury there must be other reasons that since he made his first class debut in 2016 he has only played one full season of championship cricket (in 2017) and not played more than 5 county championship games in any season since 2018. Add to that he has hardly played much list A or T20 either since debuts in each in 2017.

Probably, but it was in response to him (Tongue), like Stone, equally fitting the description of "....the always seemingly injured..." comment. i.e. injured at some time in most seasons, like Mahmood. Not like Anderson. Do they ever fully recover?

Dropping Bairstow probably the right call, though kinda weird after they just gave him a two year central contract.
If he has played his last Test he can be proud of achieving some absurd highs, along with a lot of other matches.

I feel hard done by because we're going to be denied a team with two Ollie Robinsons.
Bairstow can have no complaints but Smith barely keeps for Surrey so I'd have gone for Robinson.

Glad Bairstow is gone but it is ridiculous to pick the Surrey number 2 keeper. Rew or Robinson have done more in the last 12/18 months to deserve being picked.

Honest first impressions of that squad upon reading is that it's weaker than I've seen for a long time, especially on the bowling front. At the very least, without Jimmy after the first test, it is extremely green.
Because we're so weak at batting, and I assume the pitches will be flat to suit bazball style, I believe England will win comfortably, but if our lineup can't score runs in England against that attack, it feels like they never will.
