Not sure if they're allowed toIt's all over.
Great win for Afghanistan, they will be dancing on the streets of Kabul right now.
Surely the Taliban can relax the rules today. Not sure if they're allowed to
If these decisions had been taken by an Asian captain, @Burgey would want his bank balance checked.Australia underestimated Afghanistan and paid the price, dropping Zampa for Starc, electing to field on a ground where every chasing team has lost in this WC. Never underestimate Mother Cricket!
if South Africa lose and get knocked out, it will be because of their NRR which reflects that they're running, but not comfortablyHorrible format ..
South Africa have one bad game and they out , but a win and they face potentially Afghanistan in the Semi final, Australia have one bad game and now even if they win vs India they could go out if Afghanistan destroy Bangladesh
But still they would have only lost 1 game before the knockouts , that's kinda harshif South Africa lose and get knocked out, it will be because of their NRR which reflects that they're running, but not comfortably
Well, no they won’tIt's all over.
Great win for Afghanistan, they will be dancing on the streets of Kabul right now.
Thats not true.So I'm just reading that no matter if Australia beats AFG and India and finishes top of the group they still play #1 seed of other group while India plays #2. What a stupid format not rewarding performance (Assume Group 2 seeding is Eng #1, SA #2, WI #3)
edit: nevermind, likely won't matter
Nah it’s embarrassing. I mean good on them and tbf I didn’t watch either game and kept up via score updates, but Australia should never lose to Afghanistan in any format, anywhere. If they bow out at this insultingly early stage it will at least hopefully mean a total rethink of the T20 side, which has been persisted with well beyond its collective use by dateI don't feel so bad about NZ losing to Afghanistan now.
They are a legit good T20 team now though so losing to them isn't as embarrassing as it would have been in the past.
there's 8 teams left. in many cup comps around the world, we'd be in the knock-out stages already where one bad game sends you home. it's no biggie imo.But still they would have only lost 1 game before the knockouts , that's kinda harsh
Bro they even have 'Ban' in their name , highly unlikely.Surely the Taliban can relax the rules today.
