What has gotten into these two teams in the field in the last few days? Some of the drops have been abysmal, that one no exception.

I've not been watching, but England can do the same too, on some days the fielding just falls apart. I know we joke about the Big Bash having its moments, but seems to happen far more often in Women's Cricket, not really sure why.

Yeah I remember attending a T20 between Aus and England some years back and the Aus team could not catch a cold that day, some of the drops were ridiculous.

Probably 20 less than they'd have been hoping for while Litchfield and Healy were pasting it around but this already looks like a massive score on this sort of pitch.

And there's another drop on the boundary going for 6. At first glance looked tough, but the replays suggest it probably wasn't as difficult as she made it seem.

I suspect hand size has a fair bit to do with it, especially when you're talking about those catches that have to be taken with fingers pointing up.

Would have been a gimme runout there had Vastrakar not decided to hurl it like the stumps were 50m away for some reason.

But they use a slightly smaller ball.

I used to help coach a girl's team, they were generally excellent in the field. But again, some days they would all just have complete stinkers. A lot seemed to depend on how they started off and whether they gained confidence or totally lost it.

Anyway, suspect they've probably got at least 60-70 more than they need there. India could've done with an extra boundary fielder for the last couple of overs......

Yeah that didn't turn out much of a contest.

Just to cap off the discussion about how variable the fielding standards can be in the women's game, having dropped a whole bunch of sitters in the last game, tonight the same team caught absolutely everything even vaguely in the vicinity. McGrath in particular dropped one that even I would have caught effortlessly the other night and then pulls off a screamer tonight. Really odd phenomenon.

And then Litchfield came to the crease.......the kid is quite good (heard it mentioned she's from Orange). Although India managing to get her dropped (2 fielders could've caught it, neither laid a hand on it) is looking very costly.
