Melie Kerr would relish end to White Ferns’ 20-year test hiatus

Let's get real. Bates, Devine & Tahuhu won't play a Test, like Satterthwaite before them.
The new NZC management under Weenink is more Test-friendly than under White, but don't count on it leading to much change - we'll just say, I would be surprised if NZ is scheduled for a Test in the next WFTP.
I mean, this is a team that has slipped off the top tier over the last decade, keeps finding new lows with no end in sight & can't seem to find a road back to the top tier. Sending them into the Test arena feels like leading lambs to slaughter.
As much as I want to see the WFs donning whites & with a red ball, domestic professionalism is a far bigger priority, & for now we'll have to be content with Melie &co playing Tests in video game form (as I did a couple of weeks ago).

I might be slightly off.

The only way I see Bates, Devine or Tahuhu playing a Test is if England or Australia organise a game against a World XI within the next 2-3 years.

The crowds have been really good too - especially for RCB's home game last night. Feels like the WPL has built a bit more momentum this year.

A couple of one-sided games in the last two nights, which is a bit disappointing. Hope we get some close ones again soon.

Huge result for Namibia Women at the African Games, beating South Africa by 1 run. Bit of an asterisk tho - 8 debutants for SA!

It was a DLS affected game too, but that actually makes it more impressive for Namibia, somehow defending just 30 runs in 5 overs!

The WPL is a joke, and today's match cries for a police investigation for match-fixing. It's this sort of farce that turns people away from women's cricket.

Sounds like it was a cracker of a game although there seems to have been some brainless stuff from the Capitals. I didn't watch the game though - why is there an accusation of match-fixing in here?
