Something about undermining umpires is the official line but reckon it is because there is a margin of error with ball tracking but they don't want to admit, as it would make it more obvious. Umpires call decision are rarely discussed but some sus looking wickets would be.
It's because impact has to be manually chosen as a specific frame by an operator and there can be uncertainty if the actual impact was between frames and there's been interaction between the pad and ball.
