*Official* Third Test (Headingley, Leeds) 6–10 July

GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
Duckett one of only five bats averaging over 40 in the series to date. Doesn’t feel right that.

Jeez that whole day had the structure of a Peter Jackson LOTR battle scene. Imminent catastrophe unexpectedly turning into a sudden triumph that then melts into a rout before the chosen one (Pat Cummins) rescues things late in the piece.

Crawley has looked pretty good in a few knocks this series tbf to him
think crawley and warner have both been objectively “bad” in that they’re not making huge scores and taking the game by the balls like usman root and smith for example have but by same token they’ve both played timely supporting hands that have probably meant they’ve exceeded the expectations set

up up the mighty bison

3 but at least one didn’t cost a thing

one drop cost a 100 though and that was root on marsh

Cant understand how when a team goes from 240 to all out within 23 , they can be classed as being in the dominant position

England are always three fer and this is an above average start in reply .
They’re not in a “dominant” position but you can win a day 60:40. It doesn’t have to be 90:10. They got sent in on a tricky deck under cloudy skies and were 4/90 odd at lunch with MMarsh one of the not out batsmen. They’d have given you a non-dominant hand for 260 from there.

Well played

6 wickets for 24 continues the dismal Australian performances in their last three completed innings

Slowly deteriorating in front of our eyes

All on England to drive home now

Once smith goes it’s collapso time, three innings in a row

Its too late now Burgey. Have a good morning and I’ll have a good Kip

don’t take me seriously

How can a team with so much money behind them be so bad at the stuff that basic coaching drills can fix? Root takes that chance off Marsh and Bairstow snags Head and Australia probably don’t make 150.

They are human and make mistakes

they now have a chance to bat and make up for it
