The word "Territory" should be a hintNorthern Territory & Australian Capital Territory?
nah man, that ain’t it. More teams = more substandard players getting a gig. The good players would always rise to the top imo. The Aus system works imo - 6 teams (and even then there’s a couple of weak ones atm)More teams = more chance of finding top class players. Durham have produced many international players in their short time as a county. How many of them would have made it had they not had FC status?
Would Rehan Ahmed have been discovered if Leicestershire were culled like some suggest they should be?
They could travel to another county but it's not always that simple.
The clue is in their nameNorthern Territory & Australian Capital Territory?
There needs to be changes to the system still. But lesser teams isn't the answer. Besides we are getting the elite signing all the talent now. So in the next few years 5-6 sides will be stronger then the rest put togetherOh I know it wouldn't work, the County system has too much tradition behind it. But it still contributes to a reduced quality of Test cricketers
Australian Antarctic Territory doesn't have a team either. Scandalous.Northern Territory & Australian Capital Territory?
Yeah and their Test side is nowhere near as strong as it should be with 1.4 billion people in the country who do nothing else but play cricketExplain Indian Domestic Cricket then which has 28 sides
They both should have some form of a sideThe clue is in their name
There are medium sized cities with a higher population than NTThey both should have some form of a side
I think even a lot of Indian supporters take Ranji Trophy records with a grain of salt tbh.Explain Indian Domestic Cricket then which has 28 sides
sure, but the only one way some of the counties are strong is because of overseas playersThere needs to be changes to the system still. But lesser teams isn't the answer. Besides we are getting the elite signing all the talent now. So in the next few years 5-6 sides will be stronger then the rest put together
Would the egos of Broad and Anderson allow itWould be nice if england had a keeper who was actually competent enough to be up to the stumps vs the pacers with all the AUS bats being so far out of their crease, huh?
Where's the Macquarie Island Shield team?!Australian Antarctic Territory doesn't have a team either. Scandalous.
Yeah NT having a team would be ridiculous. Way too hot to play cricket there regularly through the Australian summer anyway - they have their local competition in the winter for this reason. There are medium sized cities with a higher population than NT
ACT literally exists so Victoria won’t whinge every day about NSW superiority. They both should have some form of a side
didn’t you know,‘it’s a sign of weakness and being spooked if the keeper comes up to a quickWould be nice if england had a keeper who was actually competent enough to be up to the stumps vs the pacers with all the AUS bats being so far out of their crease, huh?
Subs only permitted for concussion or COVID I think, so 10 batters. Are substitutions still a thing or are Australia finishing this game with 10 batters?
