Durham have produced more North-East born test cricketers in their 30 year history than the rest of the counties have collevtively since test cricket began.That's just not accurate. The quality players would play for a county that does have FC status. That's how it works everywhere in the world.
Also more teams = weaker competetion = creates less top class players
That suggests that it is harder to find another county if you are a talented local cricketer. Some will do it but not everyone.
