We need cricket to embrace the concept of the treble, or grand slam. You've already won the Test Championship and the ODI World Cup, according to anyone who has any sort of compass for fairness and justice. The T20 World Cup stands as the final leg.
I actually favour the term "Triple Crown Champion", a la pro wrestling.
The Saffer thread should be called "Unofficial - Inaugural Hong Kong Sixes Champion, obviously.
More suitable to go with someone more understated, at least ostensibly modest and generally well-liked.NZ being the HBK?
Gonna be out injured now ? After a long awaited world championship?NZ is the Daniel Bryan of cricket
Sorry, I meant he's lucky.Neesham is there.
I think the Latham role is already covered by Williamson and Conway.
We are the planets championGonna be out injured now ? After a long awaited world championship?
Yeah fair, I suppose. Just being unfair on him I guess, based on his test returns (and that too I guess can't blame him entirely). awta. How many T20 teams win matches with the batting of their #8 ffs
TBF he often played at 7 which did make him a weaker allround option, not terrible IMO but I reckon hes a gun limited overs player at 8 and an alright one at 7.Yeah fair, I suppose. Just being unfair on him I guess, based on his test returns (and that too I guess can't blame him entirely). awta.
I mean....you don't leave out probably your best bowler (in turning conditions at least) because there's a risk the selectors might bat him too high, do you?IDK, might be my memory, but has he done anything with the bat of late tho (that late slog vs WI aside)? Across the formats. Fair enough re: bowling though, esp in T20, he's been pretty economical at least.
Yeah quite damning if he doesn't figure anywhere in a set of 25 or so players named across those tours. No idea what the back story is, but feels like borderline arrogance to just draw a line under his name.Obviously the people that matter have beef with Munro (which is exactly what I've heard FWIW)
What's up with Taylor not even being in the ODIs? Poor guy has played what, 1 international in his best format in the last 18 months?
Interesting to see Munro not only missed out, but didn't even get a mention in the article about those players to miss out
Taylor left out of T20 World Cup squad; NZ pick Chapman, Todd Astle among 15
de Grandhomme and Finn Allen also didn't find a placewww.espncricinfo.com
Yeah all the best to himI just heard that Chris Cairns is on life support and not responding to treatment after suffering an aortic dissection. I know Cairns has a mixed legacy, but lots of love to this family and I hope he pulls through.
