Loved the first ball from Jamieson, but that shot from Gill on the second ball was amazing.

Thought that inswinger from Jamieson was a beast but went for four off the middle of the bat, what is this

Wagner going to be the pick of the bowlers today with hooping innies and outies?

India have done their homework. Jamieson’s had a bit of fun catching batsmen napping with an inswinger to a new batsman or early in his spell. Gill was waiting for it.

Think Bishop on the money there with Jamieson going for the inswinger second ball. Again, just trying to do too much. Keep it simple, challenge the top of off stump, for overs on end.

Kiwi bowlers erratic as **** after grinding England down with relentless line and length. Annoying.

Indians have left well as well.

It’s a great ball to have in your arsenal though probably too early to be playing that hand.

Gill is terrific to watch. Pretty loose early on but looks up for it.

Excellent start, sensible from India. NZ possibly taken in a bit by the conditions and trying too much. From the last 2 tests fair to say they’ll get movement with the slightly older ball so need to settle down a bit and cut down on the scoring opportunities.

Boult definitely looked better to Rohit in that over.
And by having to bowl to batsmen who don't do their work for them.

Maybe bowling to England's current batting line not the best prep for proper test cricket.

What the heck Sharma leaving it nicely. He loves to put bat on ball. Taken me by surprise.

Southee spanked at 5 an over. Henry / Boult pairing had the psychological wood over India still following on from the WC semi final. NZ should have made the smart selection/s for this game, not the ‘pecking order’ - don’t upset the clique selection/s.
