From cricinfo it's Sri Lanka independence day.Why are they singing the anthem?
It certainly doesn't help that most people are back at work and due to the time zone there's no real chance of catching any after work either.Genuine question - if the two sides just shook hands now and agreed to call off the rest of this match, would anyone actually care? I seriously doubt anyone would.
That's what's known in scientific circles as The SL Tour Effect. Turning even the most rabid cricket fanatics off the game since 1985.
I'd rather Ireland, Bangladesh or Afghanistan for that purpose tbh. At least they haven't got 30 plus years of insipid baggage to carry through customs when they get here. It's one thing not to have won a series in a given country, but fmd to have not won a single ****ing test in however many attempts over several decades is ****ing woeful. For the public it hasn't been the best spectacle but honestly it's nice to get in a good old minnow pounding before the summer is out. After the embarrassment of losing to India this is just what the doctor ordered.
Australia should've enforced the follow on yesterday and it wouldn't have even gotten to a 4th day. Just dragged out the game unnecessarily and got Khawaja the easiest ton he's ever likely to get.Genuine question - if the two sides just shook hands now and agreed to call off the rest of this match, would anyone actually care? I seriously doubt anyone would.

Bangladesh or Afghanistan would probably be better tbh. It's stupid that we refuse to host Bangladesh at any stage but give SL prime time series every few years. This has probably been the least competitive SL side to tour Australia which considering some of their previous efforts is quite an achievement.
