*Official* India Tour of Australia 2018/19

aussie tragic

International Captain
There was a change in the Aus squad for last 2 Tests, Tremain not in it.

When did naming squads for 2 Tests in a row become a thing. Damn you BBL killing the shield season so no FC form to pick from

Remember that idiot a few months back during the England series saying he wasn't a Test bowler? Good times.
Was probably me tbh. I certainly thought it when I first saw his action.

You so rarely see such a different action in a quick bowler these days. Actions differ slightly but are largely homogenised to an extent, with all the across-the-board coaching and biomechanical stuff younger bowlers are put through these days. He's a gem.

Tbf, the wheel is still a thing and he could very well regress to rubbish next year.

wat? Bumrah is legit
He is but so was sreesanth in his first year when he averaged 24 and he bowled India to big wins against England and SA and had seam presentation to die for.

Point being, Bumrah has not escaped the wheel quite yet.

Have Shami and BK escaped the wheel? They've been pretty good for a number of years now.

No changes to Oz squad for remainder of series

Just lolz
That's crazy. Handscomb is better than M Marsh but not by much and there are better bats available. They should have given him a couple of days to celebrate then dropped him.

Yeah Shami's yearly averages are 26,46,24(only 1 test), 26,23, 26. Pretty great figures for a subcontinent quick. But he's less convincing and way more inconsistent than bumrah is. Never know what you're getting with him. Impossible to say for bhuvi since kohli and shastri hate him.

How weird is it though having an Indian team where the problem is the batting and the fast-bowling is class.

One good thing about Shami is that he somehow manages to take wickets with seemingly crap balls even when he's not at his best. At first I just thought he'd been lucky and that would fade, but I think the fact that his length is naturally so good means he's always in the game even when he loses his rhythm and ends up bowling too wide. The number of times I've seen batsmen decide a fairly innocuous ball from Shami is short and wide and that they'll force it through the off side, only for it to not quite be short enough for the shot, skid on a bit, move off the seam and take the edge is kind of beyond luck at this point IMO.

I think this has helped him escape the trap of the wheel in times where other bowlers would have pressure mounting on them for bowling dross and averaging 70 in a series.

Helps that he usually hits the seam far more consistently than the other Indian pacers too. Even when he loses his lines the seam is still nice and upright.

I think Shami has escaped the wheel by virtue of the fact that no Indian seamer has ever taken more wickets at a better average across their career.

Nope.

And that's the point. His weird action makes you wince at first but bloke was clinging to this even after Bumrah had bowled his side to the W as the best bowler on either side.

Well played, Australia; a thoroughly professional performance (from the batsmen too).

Amidst all this talk and macho test thumping about pace bowling, this is Lyon's test match. Superb from him.

Ishant-Jadeja spat throws spotlight on use of stump mics - ESPNcricinfo

Ishant: "Don't wave at me, okay? If you need something..."

Ishant: "He is telling me from behind to go fast."

Jadeja: "Even I don't like it. I am also a part of the team. Why are you talking so much?"

Ishant: "Don't wave at me. Don't show me your anger. I will take your anger and shove it up your arse."

Jadeja: "You keep yours to yourself."

Ishant: "I will shove your anger up your arse."

Jadeja: "Don't give me this b******t."

Ishant: "You also don't talk to me."
Who was in the wrong here?
