He's been injured. He just made his comeback in a domestic game -- he did well so they've flown him over for the rest of the series. I'm sure he would've played if he was fit for the start of the series. What happened to Hardik Pandya? Probably would have won if he had played instead of Yadav or Ishant, that would have made room for Ashwin.
I could see Rahul not playing. I reckon you can lock in the other ten though unless one of them ends up injured. So I'm guessing it'll be pretty straightforward this time.
Agarwal
Rahul
Pujara
Kohli
Rahane
Pant
Pandya
Ashwin
Ishant
Shami
Bumrah
Would you be tempted to have Che open? I know he prefers three, but he has opened before.I could see Rahul not playing. I reckon you can lock in the other ten though unless one of them ends up injured.
Nah I definitely wouldn't do it, but I don't think it's an impossibility. I could also see Vijay retaining his place instead or possibly even Rohit opening. I'd go with the eleven Daemon named but I don't think Rahul is inked in.Would you be tempted to have Che open? I know he prefers three, but he has opened before.
Although obviously would need Rahane to bat at three.
Vijay didn't come up with a retort to Tim Paine's sledge. Silence means he agrees and Kohli won't like that.I could see Rahul not playing. I reckon you can lock in the other ten though unless one of them ends up injured.
The only way he can get back into Kohli's good books is showing some intent. May be a 80 ball hundred in Ranji. Or something similar to the fluke hundred in the practice match.Vijay didn't come up with a retort to Tim Paine's sledge. Silence means he agrees and Kohli won't like that.
Must be the bloke who played 30 odd test matches for India, averaging in the 30s, hailed as the next big thing in India as he copy booked Gavaskar. Has made a commentary career out of criticizing players twice his quality and pedigree.Remember that idiot a few months back during the England series saying he wasn't a Test bowler? Good times.
Sanjay Manjrekar is a bitter underachiever who lashes out at anyone with a hint of talent and/or personality.Must be the bloke who played 30 odd test matches for India, averaging in the 30s, hailed as the next big thing in India as he copy booked Gavaskar. The captain. For not stopping it.
Rahane at 3 just doesn't inspire any confidence. He is more of a counter puncher and I think will be better at 5. Maybe everyone just moves one place up. We really need to start looking at getting Shubman Gill in to the side. Why would you put a rookie at three while the myth continues to hide at five? Has Vihari batted at opener in the past?
I think Pandaya will be a handy inclusion for the Eastern States tests.
