Huh, so apparently Aus really were thinking about declaring 2nd innings because they were worried about the bowlers getting injured

Suspected they were thinking about that, all it would have taken was a ball to the wrong shoulder, one to spit up and break a finger on the bowling hand and suddenly Travis Head is doing 15 overs.

Pitch went back to normal after the tea break anyway, so it ended up all fine.

It did at times but more due to cracks than anything. I'm talking about a bit more traditional green top type movement.

Can anyone else recall a deck like this which changed character almost on a session by session basis, even reverting back to how it was before the cracks misbehaved? I can't recall one tbh. Have seen plenty deteriorate but not one which ebbed and flowed like this without any rain getting on it.

I think one of the great things to come out of this test is how fantastic the tour thread has been for the past couple of days without ***** stinking it up during play. I know all of CW agrees and thinks this is a development which needs to be persisted with and expanded to the whole forum.

I'm guessing it must have been really responsive to the roller? But then they don't roll in Tests unless it's between innings do they? Very weird

Roll pitch (or can) beginning of the day as well (except first day).

Great test again, Australia played really well team effort. Nice hundred by Kohli good bowling from India, disappointing capitulation in the end.
